Bishop Brossart, Campbell County, Mason County, Augusta, Montgomery County....maybe GRC & maybe Harrison County. At this point, without seeing any of them play & just looking on paper, I think there are 5-7 teams that could legitimately win this thing.

 

But I stand by my contention that Mason County loses less than everyone else, which is why I really like them at this point. Guard play for both the Royals & Bishop Brossart will be huge. The exact opposite is true for Augusta, where the frontcourt will be the biggest thing to keep an eye on.

 

The defending champs remain the biggest question mark because of the coaching situation.

Montgomery Co should have one of the best teams in the region, but agree alot depends on who returns, and the coaching situation. My two favorites to cut down the nets this early in the season, is BB and Augusta.

 

GRC for the first time in years will return all starters from last years team. Kamarkis will again lead the way on the boards and scoring, but the Cards need to find some scoring from this bunch. Great defensive squad, just lacking last year in some true scores, besides Kamarkis. Just found out that besides Blanton and Sharrock playing football this year, also both Israel brothers and Cornelius is playing. That could be the starting 5. Will be at least January before we know how well the Cards will do.

 

Don't count out Mason Co, but unlike Randy I would rank them #1 Augusta, #2 Mason Co. in that district.

Agree on Paris. They are young and well coached. Keeping my eye on them. Hope to see Snoop play this year.

I have found that teams with good PG fair much better in the post season.

Lots to replace at Pendleton County... Overall over 90% of the scoring and 80% + of the rebounds will graduate in a few weeks. Individually, you lose Mason Monroe, the schools 2nd all-time scorer and assist man, and his leadership. Also gone is backcourt mates Aaron Gibson and Garrett Appleman, wing players Austin Pyles and Mackenzie Colvin, and big man Ethan Moore. Each of those brought something special to the table that will be sorely missed. Adam Koeninger is the teams leading returning scorer at 0.9 PPG. The rising junior class has talent and athleticism with Lance Jones, Eddie Booth, Colton Pugh, and the aforementioned Koeninger expecting to lead the way. I also see rising Freshman Hunter Wood and Tanner Pugh taking on major roles as well. I wouldn't count this team out from anything after Ed Cravens has the summer to work with this bunch.

If it is true what they are saying about Coach Reinhardt that truely is a shame for Nicholas County. The young man did a fine job, getting Nicholas back into the Regional for the first time in 10 years. If you happended to see the first half of the Nicholas County vs. MGC game you will see what they are going to miss. Good luck to Coach Reinhardt, I would imagine it will be tough for Nicholas to find a coach after this decision IMO.

But from years past its usually 2 yrs and done no matter what you did for the program. It was the first time in 13 yrs that they've been back to the region. If you come to Nicholas Co. Just know your 2 and done. And administration gives you no backing at all from what I've heard. It's a bad deal for Coach Reinhardt. He was making strides at turning that program around. Hate to see him go. Hopefully he'll land a new job soon. Whoever hires him will be getting someone who knows the game and will be good.

Makes absolutely no sense this move. Nicholas Co gets what they deserved. They made great strides in his tenure. This is probably why they go 13 years in between regional appearances.

Very disappointing. Reinhardt is a good coach and a good guy. He did well at Nicholas - which isn't easy to do.

Feel bad for Reinhardt; Makes you wonder how a coach could feel good about

taking that position knowing how other coaches have faired in the past.
