The silver lining for Dem......Ahemm Robertson County is we lose no players to graduation.

Thoughts on the 10th next season.

 

In the 37th:

Campbell County - lose only 1 senior but is a big one (McGovney). Will be one of the favorites next season.

Brossart - lose Saunders and Uebel. Return a very strong front court

Scott - senior heavy this year so a lot to replace.

 

Camp Co, will be led by their leading score from this year, Corey Holbrook. As much as Corey will be their go to guy, big man Wilson and D. Jackson will need to take their game to the next level if they plan to battle for the top prize. They also have a load of guards/shooters who saw some minutes who will fight for some playing time. Another question for CC, will the big 6'8" mid season football transfer play next year and will he make an impact?

Brossart, While losing the second best player in the 37th this year (Saunders) and floor leader Uebel, they will be lead by one of the best big men tandems around (Burns and Trentman). Throw in guards Jennings and Reiger and they have a solid 4 kids that played a lot of minutes this year and helped capture the 37th Championship. The 5th slot will be filled by McDonald, Shannon and/or Hackworth. All played some spot minutes this year on varsity and will finally be given their chance to shine.

Scott while losing 9 Seniors and the district's best player (Jackson), still had 8 juniors on the roster this year including big man Crim and starter Castleman. Along with Jr. to be Schneider, they will make it a three dog race (again) for the 37th title.

The Grove loses 3 starters and Calvary loses 5. Hard for schools of their size to reload very quickly.

There is always a surprise or two, a transfer in, a horrible injury, a player who comes out of his shell. It all makes for another exciting year of hoops. Unlike Doublethreat, I already have the calender marked for next year!

Every year Campbell, BB, and/or Scott is touted as a "favorite" to win the 10th. When is the last time one of these teams actually won it?

 

What universe are you living in? BB, Scott, and CCHS are consistently at the top of the region, but they have never been called the favorites.

 

Pretty sure it's just been MoCo, GRC, and Mason (one year with PC) labeled as favorites for like the last fifteen years.

 

Nice attempt at a slight on those three school though.

The fact is he wasn't a no-show, the staff new he'd be attending the football combine.

It is for every team except the 8 that are left.

Your main grumble as is kings is that the 10th region winners are part of the Elite 8! The fact of the matter is that if it were another school still in it from the region I would have posted because part of having "pride in your region" is cheering on every team from that region...not just your favorites. It's about sportsmanship and class and having your region's back...or atleast it was way back in the day.

 

Having said my piece...GRC and Montgomery should be fun to was again.

As a senior parent who has traveled the AAU circuit, I am rooting for many of the teams and players still playing. I have been watching many of these young men play since they were 9 or 10 years old.

 

As a Camels fan, I am looking forward to what lies ahead for next year.

I can promise you that afi100guy is not a sore loser. When coaches put younger kids in to log varsity minutes they are preparing these kids for NEXT year and the years to come. Is this disrespectful or classless? I think not. When parents and fans talk about next season when their team is knocked out and only 4 teams remain is this disrespectful or classless? I think not. What I do find disrespectful and classless is someone getting on here and calling someone a "grumbling sore loser" and a "hotshot" for looking forward to next year. Your personal attack on afi100guy and your arrogance is baffling!

Yeah, I know a parent when I see one and I call it as I see it. Just because it says I've only posted a limited amount of times it doesn't mean I haven't been here for years...just means I decided to reactivate my account. I stand up for what I believe in and don't think I'm not gonna come out swinging if I get backed into a corner. EVERY kid deserves to be cheered on and cared about in this region, not just the special ones. Wonder why our schools aren't what they used to be? Take a look at parental involvement in the schools and how they are mentored within the communities as a whole. It's not what it use to be ten years ago. Pride in the region teaches these kids to care about each other even when others don't. It teaches them someone cares past the faces they see in the halls so YEAH I'm gonna stick up for these kids. If that makes me a jerk, so be it! I don't really care because I know it's what God wants of me and our region!! Have a great day sir.

You are correct, they have not been the outright favorite. Just seem to always be labeled as a team with a chance to win region but they never do. Seem to come up short in the region. I guess I exaggerated with the whole "favorite" thing.

So he told them he was missing the district tournament and they were okay with it?

Looking to next year is something sports fans do. I am as big a Montgomery Co fan as there is, and my team is playing one of the biggest games in their history today, but I am in no way offended that there is some talk about next year.

Geeezzzzz!!!!! Give a rest already!!!!!!!! We get it, you're a super fan!!!! Good for you!!!!! I'm quite a fan myself, but I don't need to get on here and belittle anyone and their feelings or opinions. I'm with afi100guy. I'm routing for Montgomery co. and Holmes, Montgomery because they are 10th region, Holmes, because they are NKY. I'm very interested in what the Camels are going to bring next year, and who is going to grow, develop, and step up their game. It's OK to let things go without injecting your own opinion as the only way for all. I've been around for a real long time, and you seem as though you want to bully others because their timing on discussions differ from you. :popcorn:

Go to a district tournament and get you butt handed to you or go to a combine that will effect your future? Doesn't seem like a hard decision to me, although I know Snoop likely wished to have nailed them both two sport stars have these decisions to make.
