James Bolden is a beast. Flat out stud. Game changer. Just don't foul 86 feet away from the basket J. No need. Looking forward to seeing this kid play for Cal.

Holmes certainly earned their trip to Rupp.

Instead of just playing the game the way CovCath was capable of playing they appeared to rely on the attempt to hard fouls with the hopes of retaliation from the Holmes kids imo.

 

CovCath was whistled for two incredible hard fouls that resulted in intentional fouls and one probably should have been a Technical imo.

 

No doubt that CovCath was looking for someway of neutralizing the game and tempo of Holmes with some very, very physical play and it almost worked to perfection.

 

Holmes handled themselves admirably and should get a shout out for it. Just sayin...

Glad to see Holmes didn't fold when Bolden fouled out. Palmer stepped up big tonight.

The only hard or excessive foul I recall was Toblers which resulted in a T.

Spot on analysis. Play got dicey at times.

 

Iam going to go out on a limb and say veteran coach Mike L might have had something to do with the way the Bulldogs handled themselves tonite. Been there done that I would say...

Stunned that Ruthsatz passed that ball. An unselfish play on his part .. teammate was wide open .. but the best player on the floor has to shoot that ball with the game on the line.

 

Feel bad for CC, cause they had their chances (Fred and Hep missed open looks down one), but Holmes stepped up and won the game. HUGE tap in by Chames, and huge FTs by #14 after Bolden had fouled out.

 

You couldn't have asked for a better game, or a better atmosphere (keep the tourney at BOK). Best of luck to Holmes .. represent the ninth well!

Sweeper, you are off base. The intentional foul was intentional but it was not a hard foul. He wrapped his arms around him to prevent him from getting away. The technical foul was questionable. It was hard. The guy kept going to the hoop. Tobler can't be sure if they are calling it in the act of shooting, continuation, so he fouls to prevent a basket and possible 3 point play. CC was not trying to get under Holmes skin.

That wasnt a hard foul. That was a grab that was called correctly. It wasnt hard at all.
