D's pics answer that. The foul has already happened before the 1st pic. Whistle had blown, right? You have to let up . Refs have to protect an airborne shooter who is vulnerable.

Best I can tell, this is where the foul happened.

Didn't think the officiating affected the outcome of the game, but I also wouldn 't call it a well officated game. Very inconsistent in how they called things like the hand checks, sometimes very tight other times jerseys pulled out of the waistband and no call.

I would agree strongly with the bolded statement. It didn't effect the game, but it wasn't well officiated... Anytime people are talking about something called a "blarge" it's a pretty clear indicator that the game wasn't called well. Fair? Yes. Well? No.

That "blarge" thing still is mind boggling to me...

That's not correct, Bluedad.

He got the T because the whistle had already blown and he still clobbered Chames. Deserved.

Even had he been the first to foul it was going to be an intentional foul even though he was trying for the ball. High school rules require an intentional foul to be called when the foul is "excessive" in severity. Textbook case.

For the record, I didn't have a problem with Tobs foul. It wasn't dirty. It did deserve a T though.

I'm sure you were there as I was so you saw how "bang bang" the fouls were. In fact, I couldn't believe they didn't say he was in the act of shooting for the first foul as he was preparing to lay the ball in when his wrist was hit. Tobler had already committed to blocking the ball at the time of the whistle. Sorry but your wrong here as was the ref. Hard foul? Yes. Tech foul? Uh-uh. Saying it was a Technical foul but not dirty doesn't even seem to make sense.

It wasn't "dirty" in the sense he was trying to hurt him. It was a T though.

For all the people that are talking about the trouble getting in, I got there about 25 mintues before game time and it took me about 10 minutes to get in. Not bad at all... Not saying BOKC doesn't need to do something about it, but I think it's one of those 'early bird gets the worm' things...

I played early bird all week long. Worked out well for great seats and an opportunity to talk tons of B-Ball with my brother. Pre-game flies when you're having fun.

So by my count, Cov Cath stays at just 3 Regional Championships in the last 40 years. Interesting trend.

The foul occurred much later than that, closer to the lane.

It's my understanding that a Technical can just be excessive nowadays, rather than with intent. There are hard fouls, then excessive fouls, then dirty fouls. Hard fouls are common fouls, excessive fouls are T's, dirty fouls can get you tossed. Where the line between those lies in the refs judgement.

I think Toblers foul on Chames was correctly called at the second level of what I just described.

For the record. I think the intentional in the first half was correctly called, and frankly, was a no doubter. Not that I blame the kid. Against Bolden in one on one breakaway you really have two options, grab him, or just get out of the way...

Someone said it earlier and it bears repeating. Chames' improvement this year has been outstanding.

Imagine Holy Cross with him on their team this season.

It was a very quick sequence of events. The whistle had blown, but both players had already committed to elevating and going hard towards the rim.

Personally, I would not have called it a T but like I said, it could've gone either way. All in all, it was handled well by the officials and players.

Lots of discussion on this play. I obviously had a pretty good view.

Doesn't matter whet it looks like. Fact of the matter was that it happened after the whistle. I agree 100 percent with the call.

Where is Get Some? His legs are probably tired. I saw him stand for like an hour before tip off. Never sat down. Jacked up and ready to go.

I have known "Get some" for a long time. Great guy and fan of the local teams. I would be lying though if I didn't say there is a special place for the Bulldogs for him! He is the epomity of "Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog!"

That's great. Love fans like that.

Unfortunately last night we had a store meeting...8pm at night on Sunday?????????? So, I had to leave or I would have stood for another hour or two celebrating. Just had a good friend of mine text me that you posted something about myself on Bluegrasspreps. As a fitness trainer and nut I would stand all game if that was an option. I do get fired up for these boys as an Alumni, former middle school coach of Quinton Chames & Zak Pouncey and just a sports fan. Great season for Cov Cath and congrats for your 100% of Getting Some.
