Ouch if you are from GC!!!!

Nice win for OC. They seem to always peak at the right time.

Twelve in a row. You can never count thhem out.

Especially when the other team can't score against them...

Oldham Co seems to be rolling at the right time.

Best defensive team in the state last year. No slouch this year either. Good defense can make good offenses look bad.

Coach Holland always has his team peaking at the right time. They are playing really well and could possibly 3-peat. Kind of surprised that Grant only scored 44, thought it would be a closer game.

Defense wins championships, period.

Coach Holland doesn't rant and rave about every play and every call, he stays focused and makes sure his boys play good team basketball. For a young coach he sure stays composed.

Congrats to GC on a nice season, especially senior Austin Angling. I would pay good money to watch that kid play defense, kept GC in game early with multiple on the ball steals...just fun to watch!

Hope GC fans now realize how much the weak schedule ultimately hurt the braves. You can't prepare to play against good pressure defense like Oldham Co. unless you play those type if teams during regular season. As hard as Braves play & potential they have for next year braves fans should demand a serious schedule upgrade to prepare them for next years regional.

I totally agree with you about their strength of schedule and I do believe that it made them less prepared for post season. 20+ wins in the regular season looks great but if most of the wins are against inferior teams, it's not preparing them for post season. Grant has a lot of talent returning and they could be one of the favorites to win the 8th next year. By beefing up the schedule (dropping the cupcakes), they will be more prepared for the post season.

SK beat Oldham handily,So you don't think they play pressure defense? How would you breakdown the Oldham loss to SK? Weak schedule ? Not prepared or You just dont have a stinking clue?

I would go with the latter of 3 options in your case!

Tonight the Braves Did not play defense the way they normally play, They were a half step slow and looked still dead legged from the Friday night game with SK. Shots were short all night long and they shot a bad percentage. Oldham was more aggressive on the boards and took control of the game period. Congrats to Oldham Co.

Bgcat I would think as talented as your son is you personally would like to see him play against some of the better talent in the region & state.

Just think with talent GC has returning 4 or 5 games against better competition would make your team better. But if you would rather continue playing the weaker schedule that is your opinion.

Congrats to your son & Braves on a nice season...they played extremely hard all the games I saw them play.

Well unless he's changed since I watched him a few years ago, Holland's counterpart in this game is exactly the opposite. Hicks never sat down and complained on most calls in the games I saw him coach. But he was only in our region for one year before moving on to another school.

Maybe he's changed as he's gotten more coaching experience over the years.

And about the weak schedule criticism , Hicks has had a reputation of downgrading his schedule at every school he's coached , which I think is around 4 or 5. Those easy wins over inferior talent looks good in the win-loss column but do very little to prepare a team for the tough post season games.
