UK UNC Renew Series

Featured Replies

Unless they meet in the NIT this year. :) :) :)

Actually hope this is not the case, would prefer it be:

North Carolina vs. _____________ (insert one of your other least favorite teams).

They have it done with Carolina, so who cares?

My point is the whole reshuffling was an excuse to soften the schedule and possibly to even punish IU for daring to win after being UK's whipping boy for so long. It reeked of the same garbage as when UK dropped WKU after the Toppers won.

Certainly. But in my best Mark McGwire, I'm not here to talk about the past. I'm just giving the reasoning moving forward!

IU fans are funny!

I can see why Cal wanted to remove Indiana from the schedule.

I'd much rather see UK/UNC anyway, but that's because UNC is my least favorite team in all of sports. They have played some really good games since Cal came to UK.

UK offered up a date and a place for IU next year and IU declined. So who's ducking who?

What was wrong with the previous arrangement? Seemed to work for ever how many years in a row UK won until last year. Again, that's on UK.

There was talk of going neutral court after Cal's first year (Crean, Calipari discuss moving rivalry back to neutral site | Inside the Hall | Indiana Hoosiers Basketball News, Recruiting and Analysis). A loss doesn't have anything to do with it.

Not many years. The game just recently went home-and-home (I believe Tubby's last season). And that was not about getting the game on campus as much as it was about booking issues with Freedom Hall and the RCA Dome. It had been a neutral court game for a long time. Both are culpable. If you want to to say UK is "more culpable" then I am fine with that.

I call it scared.

(I know they're not really scared, but its more fun that way.)

You also have to wonder if the SEC/Big East Challenge will continue with so many programs moving out of the league. Perhaps the SEC will engage in an event with the new Catholic league, or maybe with the Big 12 or Pac-12.

The ACC/Big 10 event should continue to be really strong.

The SEC/Big East Challenge is already dead. Guessing the thought of Auburn losing to Tulane was too much to bear...:D

Would be for me. Half of the SEC should be in the SEC/OVC challenge. Murray State was up 31 on Auburn earlier this season so maybe that wouldn't work either.

I didn't know that. Sadly, Auburn will now have to lose to Tulane in a normal game, instead of a challenge game.

So UK cancelled solely because they lost last year? C'mon.

Sec/Big 12 is what I'm hearing.

Sec/Big 12 is what I'm hearing.

Makes sense, although that would mean four teams from the SEC wouldn't be able to participate, at least as the composition of the conferences are right now.
