January 28, 201313 yr No surprise. They wanted to get Louisville and Carolina off the home-home/road-road format. Next year, Louisville in Rupp and Carolina on the road, which means they can market a marquee home game to ticket holders every year.

You have to wonder with the super conferences how many more true non-conference road games teams will play unless they are forced to as part of the Big 10-ACC challenge, Big East-SEC challenge, etc. For instance Duke this season plays only true road games in conference. UK had two with UL and Notre Dame. I think it will get to where teams play no road games OOC.

Weren't they already able to do that with IU being home in opposite years?

January 28, 201313 yr Unless they meet in the NIT this year. :) You beat me to it. I smell a 2013 NIT match-up brewing. Should be a dandy!

Perhaps the SEC will engage in an event with the new Catholic league, or maybe with the Big 12 or Pac-12. The ACC/Big 10 event should continue to be really strong.

I am not sure what they will do. My guess is just do away with it until the 4 super conferences are ultimately established.

They could call it "The Culture Wars."
