All of Campbell's fouls were on the offensive side.

No they weren't.

3 of Campbell's 4 fouls were offensive fouls. Referees struggled on both sides last nght IMO and really had a hard time adjusting to the aggressive defense that both teams were wanting and like to play. They have to let kids play through "some" contact if it isn't directly affecting the flow of the game. They were at the point where a kid would hit the floor and they would blow a whistle assuming that well if the kid is on the ground he "obviously" had to be fouled. HC played at Holmes last Friday and we all know what type of aggressive style that game was played at and there were 4 total fouls called in 2nd half with 1:30 left in game. Last night, there was a whistle every 25-30seconds. It doesn't allow either team to get into any rythmn at all. I'm assuming the top officiating crew was in Park Hills last night.

Good to see Mustang there with the Brossart broadcasting crew.

I think you see this quite often when you have a team coming off an emotional win; they have trouble maintaining the same intensity if they play again in quick succession. Not taking anything away from HC and I didn't see the game but just an observation. As far as the officiating I think we (Augusta) have had our share of "jobbers" this year like everyone else and overall the officiating is poor to moderate. We have had on a couple of occasions a referee who wanted to dictate the outcome of our game and be the "show" so to speak and they're the worst. However I want to mention 2 guys that are the best in the business; Gary Wilson & Eric Thornsbury. They do a very fair job

This is a good win for HC.

I think whoever comes out of the 9th region All A wins the state tournament.

I agree.

I agree they should be the favorite, however do not count Brossart out. They will be a different/better team on a nuetral court.

I know the type of talent Brossart has. Have been following this senior group since they were freshmen.

With that said, Newcath and Holy Cross are also VERY GOOD teams. The only way we see Brossart v Holy Cross/Newcath is if it's in the state championship, as they are on opposite sides of the bracket.

Why doesn't it? Brossart's talent alone can carry them against St. Henry or Lloyd. Not so against HC.

Going into a tough environment after a big game, how does it not make sense?

It doesn't ring true with me because it was a big game. By your thinking CCH might have an understandable letdown Thursday on the Hill after a tough matchup last night against Holmes. Don't buy it.

In big games against strong competition (Holy Cross in this example) there is no excuse for a letdown. I just think HC played well and better than Brossart. I don't call that a "letdown." I call that a "thumping."

It happens.

There was a 5 seconds call on Holy Cross while the Holy Cross player (I think it was M. McClendon) was dribbling across the top of the frontcourt and Brossart had switched defenders a few times. Very bad call.

I completely agree with you, and I believe them meeting in the state championship game is very possible.

No, not by my thinking. I can do my own thinking, thanks. I understand that you often like to apply the A=B and B=C so A=elephant argument, but they're two different cases.

Brossart vs Holy Cross is an out of region game. Holy Cross is a good, not great team. Brossart needed to come into the game emotionally prepared, they did not. Letdown. Holy Cross was obviously the better team last night.

CovCath vs. NewCath is a battle between two of the top teams in a region. NewCath is a top fifteen team in the state. The two situations are not comparable. More applicable if CovCath were going into Scott.

Brossart had a letdown. That's all I was saying.

Once again, not taking anything away from Holy Cross. They are a very good team.

Neither HC or Brossart played their best game last night that is for sure. Anyone that was at the game should agree on that. From talking with Mustang after game that was the worst shooting night Brossart has had all year from 2 and 3 pt...Some open shots were missed for sure (I know Uebel missed a few open 3s in the 2nd half especially that I'm sure he usually makes) but I do think that you need to credit the defensive pressure with that as well. Brossart is a very good team who had a bad night shooting. Other than the 2nd half of the NCC game, HC has proved that they can play with the top teams on any given night. I don't think HC has played a complete game yet this year. Can't wait for the All A Classic next week at Bellevue.

Absolutely. Holy Cross obviously played great defense. Against a te like Holy Cross, Brossart needed to be ready to play, and I don't think they were. It being after the CCHS, I called it a letdown. Meant nothing else by it.

The rule states that a 5 second call can be made even if the defenders switch, as long as the distance between the offensive player and the defender is maintained. That being said, during that play, the distance may not have been maintained. Tough call.
