Customers Called 'Fat' on Restaurant Bill

Featured Replies

The dinner bill for three friends at Chilly D's Restaurant stung, but it wasn't the price - printed on the top of the receipt were the words "Fat Girls".

"I got the bill, I was looking at bill [and] I was like, 'Why does this receipt say 'fat girls?'" customer Christine Duran said.

The dining experience went from bad to worse when the restaurant demanded they still pay the bill, offering them a 25 percent discount and then a 50 percent discount. They declined both offers.

In a Facebook message overnight, Maggie Lewis, the Cameo Club Casino owner, apologized and said the insulting treatment Duran and her friends had received is "intolerable in our establishment."

Anyone else see a lawsuit coming? Remember, it's California.

Unfortunate for the females. Employee would have to be fired if I was the boss. You can't have people working for you that are going to offend customers. Too many other workers out there that will represent you professionally.

Agreed.

You think they'll try to sue, Clyde?

What are they going to sue for?

Well it won't be for telling the truth!!! Lord have mercy, Jeff the server was not lying, they was some BIG girls. Is it the right thing to put on a bill....HELL NO. Get your free meal and move on.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me. :ohbrother:

Something resturant employees need to realize: without overweight people, you wouldn't have a job.

So only fat people eat in restaurants?

No diet drinks on that bill. Sugar pop, a sandwich and fries. Just an observation.

Hello - the women were patrons who were paying their bill - how insulting can you get. Regardless if they were eating grilled chicken with steamed veggies or a plate of fried food with a regular coke - you never treat a patron like this.

Agreed.

I doubt it.

What I can't believe is the cost of the drinks. Only $1.00. You can't hardly go anywhere around here where soft drinks aren't $2 plus.

Wait did they pay? Or did they refuse to pay?

If they didn't pay does it mean meals are always free if you get insulted? If so, they can call me short and ugly every time I go to a restaurant so long as the meal is free.

Where I come from it wouldn't be cornbread and chicken it would be pay your bill or go to jail.

With all that said I agree the employee should be fired.

How pathetic to only offer 50% off the bill. I would have ordered a crap load of booze and accidentally tripped into it and spilled it all and said sorry, it was an accident, my fat butt made me fall.

So only fat people eat in restaurants?

No, I frequently eat in restaurants.

65% of Americans are overweight. I'd assume a beefy percentage of that figure eat in restaurants.
