exactely. You make less classes and guess what, the same couple teams keep winning the titles. So what difference does it make if you have 6 classes or 4 classes or 2 classes or 1 class?

 

Another reason all this type of talk is silly. Even with a so called elite class, the same 1 or 2 teams will be battling it out every year and that would make it even more boring.

Exactely!!! that is what I and others have been saying. There wouldn't really be a difference at all no matter what you did to change the class system. The same schools would still be winning time and time again. In both time frames you shows tthere have been 14 schools that won titles in both 6 class and 4 class.

Very well said...but the teams that step up are few and far between. One of the schools that comes to mind that is usually knocking on the door is Beechwood. They should be listed as an annual threat. The Warren County schools, Fort Campbell, Belfry, Bell County, etc, are the exceptions. But its usually these schools that take home the hardware and I would just like to know what gives them the edge, year in and year out. Other schools, like our local high school, work extremely hard throughout the year and occasionally a 2 week venture into the playoffs occurs, but it just amazes me how these small communities like Mayfield, Belfry, and other areas such as these repeatedly compete for all the marbles.

I read these threads about super divisions and guys complaining about being bored. It appears the underlying theme is people begrudge the good teams their success. I bet all the best teams have one thing in common: they just work harder. I bet these programs are just like Highlands. They condition starting in Jan. and don't stop until the first of December. That's the magic formula. If your kids are willing to give up eleven months a year for four years, they too can win a lot of football games. Success isn't cheap.

Actually, especially in today'[s high school athletics, Highlands doesn't start anytime sooner than just about everyone else. Cooper starts as soon as the season is over.

Cooper started conditioning etc. last year in Nov. Our season just like Highlands just finished this weekend so it was an entire 12 months.

Give me a break. So will 95% of other teams. All teams work hard in the offseason.

Yeah I know all of the local teams hit weights and condition year round. "We just work harder", is a great myth. Teams may work smarter, may have more re$ource$, have better coaching or better feeder programs...but most kids and teams work just as hard and long as the 6 state champions did. There is more to a successful program than just working harder and longer.

My two boys will start the regular lifting routine Monday.

Totally agree. We all know why Trinity and teams alike continue to win. They are just better. Period, end of sentence.
