Show me proof Aaron, Mays and Schmidt used steroids or HGH.
So now you can determine which PED's have greater impact?

Isn't the gripe that Bonds, Clemens, etc. used PED's? Which supposedly helped their performance. By nature don't ALL PED's help with performance? If you are going to blacklist some for using them shouldn't you blacklist ALL?

Show me proof Bonds, Clemens, Piazza, Biggio, Murphy, etc used steroids. None of them ever tested positive.

That isn't correct. Bonds did test positive to steroids 3 years before MLB started testing for the drug in question

According to the indictment, the anabolic steroids were detected in Bonds' system during a November 2000 test. That was almost three years prior to the implementation of a testing program by Major League Baseball. Bonds hit 49 home runs, then a career high, in 2000. The next season, he hit a major league-record 73 home runs.

Bonds' positive steroid test discovered among BALCO evidence - MLB - ESPN

Bonds also admitted to taking steroids.

It is fact that drug companies know how to mask drugs that are being tested, just because he didn't test "positive" during a MLB drug test doesn't mean the players aren't taking steroids or HGH. The fact there is no good HGH test out there also doesn't mean players didn't take them....actually it would be easier for them to take HGH because you couldn't test for them.

A person who robs a bank isn't innocent of robbing banks simply because he didn't get caught. He's still a bank robber.

Speed does not improve muscle build etc. it keeps you awake.

You are talking PED's so under your definition aspirin is considered a PED, I'm talking Steroids and HGH. You want to be extremely vague, I choose to be very distinctive in what i'm talking about.

You are using a very vague description of how "greenie's" can help. They improve alertness and decrease muscle fatigue. Also studies have shown that they can increase your cognitive functioning and reaction time. To think that "greenie's" didn't help get stats is absurd. And isn't that what the argument is really about?

Having said that you can probably find studies that show the opposite. Just as you can with steroids/HGH. Which further proves the silliness of that line of thinking. I don't think ANY of us know exactly how much steroids/HGH helped Clemens or Bonds just as we don't know how much "greenie's" helped Mays. But if you are going to blacklist one group for their PED use then the other group should elicit similar feelings.

You left out this part of the article.

"There is a serious issue regarding a lack of chain of custody," Conte said. "No test result has anybody's name or initials. All steroid test results performed at BALCO were a number only. Now there were different ledgers with initials and different things that are certainly subject to challenge, but there is no type of steroid panel test result with the name Barry Bonds on it."

When did Bonds admit it?

Opening statement delivered in Barry Bonds' perjury trial - MLB News | FOX Sports on MSN

“When it was their turn for an opening statement, Allen Ruby, Bonds’ lead attorney and a former professional wrestling announcer, acknowledged in a deep baritone that Bonds did take two designer steroids called the ”cream” and the ”clear.” But Bonds did so unwittingly, Ruby said.

I thought Bonds was one of the best players ever to play the game, that doesn't mean I think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. No one twisted his arm, he chose on his own to go the route he took. The consequences are the consequences.

It's really pretty simple. MLB allowed it and they have to live with their consequences. Regardless of what anyone thinks the MLB benefited from these guys juicing and did nothing about it until it became blatantly obvious that things were getting out of hand.

While the HOF is not necessarily affiliated with MLB. You can guarantee they didn't shy away from using players bats, balls, uniforms...etc after they shattered homerun records. If they didn't notice why it was happening but everyone else did, I have even less faith in the HOF than before.

MLB and HOF both screwed up. Own it. Juiced up hitters, fielders and pitchers make for a juiced up game.

Biggio didn't get in because of the steroid era, he didn't get in because he was an average player. Yes he got 3,000 hits but that was over a very long career. He was a .280 hitter, nothing special about that. He played for 20 years and only had 4 seasons where he batted higher than .290 He only had 1 200 hit season. He's had more 100 strike out seasons than seasons he hit over .290 and 200 hit seasons combined. Biggio was a good player, but not Hall of Fame worthy.

Maybe, but the Hall of Fame has 3 statistics that used to merit automatic election. 3,000 hits/500 home runs/300 wins. Apparently 2 of the 3 are not what they used to be and a lot of it is b/c of how the steroid era is perceived.

Can PEDs be obtained legally? Where do I sign up?

That isn't entirely true. At least nothing I have ever read. I've never read anything that says you are automatically put into the Hall of Fame if you have 3,000 hits.

Now what the media and writers etc. do have are stats they use as measuring sticks and 3,000 hits, 300 wins for a pitcher etc. are those milestones they look at, but nothing says if someone reaches one of those goals they are automatically enshrined.

You are correct though, the steroid era did lessen those accomplishments which is a shame.

Just lifted some weights and drank protein shakes.

Mass was likely added from Creatine.
