I don't completely disagree with you there, but generally the fraternity members are all involved in selecting new members based on the rushing/bid procedures. I'm not sure that all of the HOF members keep up so much with the stats and day-to-day goings on of all the stars to have that much more of an educated opinion than the baseball writers (whom all have to have a minimum of 10 years experience writing) have. Bonds was a HOF'er before he ever thought about using, and it's never been proven that he used them. Never a positive test, nothing.
