November 25, 201213 yr I'll say this too for all Teo has went through lately, I am very impressed with his poise and ability to keep it all together. I don't think I would be able to get out of bed for a month if my grandmother and the love of my life died within hours of each other.
November 25, 201213 yr I think when they lose to an SEC team by 30 we can say they are just average. I believe the SEC champion will skull drag Notre Dame all over the field. I'll gladly sit down if I'm wrong, but like I said that's what's exciting we will find out how good Notre Dame is now, through no fault of their own their schedule turned in to a cupcake. They scheduled several teams that before the games were played looked like they would be top caliber teams. Their schedule did not turn into a cupcake. It went from being what was suppose to the the toughest schedule in the country to being just one of the toughest. As I pointed out in another thread, you can take a lot of these other teams near the top who people have had in the discussion for being in the title game too, and their schedules do not look like these tough amazing schedules either. In fact just look at Bama they have played three rank teams all season long, and lost one of them at home to a freshman QB. Then barely won against LSU who is a team who is a lot like Notre Dame. Their other game against a ranked team came against Michigan a team Notre Dame beat. So their schedule does not show to be to great when it comes to strength. Georgia has played only two rank teams all year and lost one of them and lost bad! So nope not like they played this tough schedule. Oregon when they finally played a good team, they lost at home. A team that Notre Dame beat. The only team who played a very tough schedule and is in the argument for the title is Florida. So maybe we should be talking about putting them in no matter what over the SEC Champion. So your whole argument for why Notre Dame is just average based on the schedule is just silly. Considering other top teams have not played a tougher schedule and even with an easier schedule than Notre Dame they still lost. Your whole argument is way off base and shows your argument is based on bais of not liking Notre Dame rather than based on facts to support why they are average. Which even if they lose by 30 to an SEC team still does not show they are average. Just shows the SEC has the best team in the country for the 7th straight year, which is why they have made most of the National Title games appear basically one sides over those 7 years. It was not because the other teams were average, it was because they were just better.
November 25, 201213 yr Honestly if anyone should be having some crow for dinner it should be you, because you been beating this just average drum all year, and they have proven that you were wrong on that. You really have no crow at all to give this year when it comes to Notre Dame now even if they lose. Its silly to say a team is just average if they lost in the TITLE GAME haha.
November 25, 201213 yr This is BK's second undefeated regular season, I fully expect this team to put up as much fight against an SEC foe as Cincinatti did in 09. I am pretty sure Brian Kelly was not around to coach that team to even get ready for that game or to coach in the game which he does very well at. So pretty poor comparison to bring that up. Not to mention I think it shows he made the right decision, he goes undefeated with UC and can't make the title game. He goes undefeated at Notre Dame and is in the title game. So he did make the best move for himself, even though he might not have went about it the best way in making the switch.

The result that year would have been no different had he stuck around to coach it. You can get super upset all day, but it's laughable to say Notre Dame has played one of the toughest schedules in the nation. The SEC will have 6 of the top 10 teams in the country come Monday. The best team Notre Dame has played is Oklahoma and they haven't turned out to be that great either. And Notre Dame hasn't done anything to prove to me yet they are more than average, week in and week out they play average to below average teams and barely win. This game was a lot closer than the score indicates, USC could have one this game if a couple of plays go differently. With that said Notre Dame has pulled out the wins, and that takes a lot of heart. But when they beat an SEC team or even play an SEC team within 2 score I will say I was wrong. Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and Florida are all undefeated if they play Notre Dame's schedule, and they aren't winning the games by 7 or 8 points they are winning them by 17 to 20 points a game.
November 25, 201213 yr ND doesn't win on style points and that taints it for many. What they DO do is play defense and not make mistakes. That formula combined with an SEC-quality front 7 will make the national championship game a great one to watch.
November 25, 201213 yr I bet ND has already formed a task force to market the championship game. They don't miss a beat in that area. Have you ever been to the bookstore before a game? More power to them. What did I hear on the TV network last night----that the cheapest ticket for the championship game....just to get in the building.....is $1,399? What is weird, and college football is the only sport to do this, is that ND will have to wait 44, yes 44, days to play the game. That is also stupid.

November 25, 201213 yr Let the haters be the haters, I just sit back and laugh. I don't care if ND does lose big to an SEC team, I'm an SEC fan as well, I just like ND more and think the Irish have earned respect. However, if the "unthinkable" happens and ND wins or if the really "unthinkable" happens and ND gives their opponent a beat down, you can be sure I won't be on here telling anyone the Irish's opponent is or was overrated or is just an average team.
November 25, 201213 yr Kiffin screwed his team by not kicking a Fg and give his team a chance. Not sure how he is a head coach I have not heard one person covering that game mention the fact that he could have kicked the FG and cut it to one possession. That was "Lame" Kiffin.
November 25, 201213 yr I actually thought this game would be easier for ND but they did what they needed to do. Now they wait a week to see who they play and start getting ready for the NC. Glad to see them back in the National Title discussion. As someone said, when ND is good college football is better.
November 25, 201213 yr I had no problem with Lane Kiffin going for it on 4th down. Drew up the right play. Should have been a TD. Wide open.
November 25, 201213 yr You are down 2 scores you need points! At least 3 you give your team a chance. It's easy to say before and after. I was yelling it before he went for it
November 25, 201213 yr Is Zach Martin OK? Also, is he the same kid who committed to Kentucky and then back out to choose ND?
