That goal line stand on USC's last possession was incredible.

Kiffin screwed his team by not kicking a Fg and give his team a chance. Not sure how he is a head coach

Awesome! Great win over a huge rival. It's been a long time coming.

Go Irish!

Nice to see the Irish back. College football is better when Notre Dame is good. Kiffin is a moron, I'm glad USC has him...

ND vs. SEC for title. Nothing better. This is how college football should be.

I can only imagine what my wife will be like during the title game. She was crazy during this one.

Only thing USC had better tonight were the cheerleaders.

Easy to say after the fact. I would venture to say 90% of coaches go for it to in that scenario down 10 with 3 minutes to go on the 6 inch yard line against the #1 defense in the nation. No matter what they was going to have to score a touchdown to win the game, and if you can't get 6 inches in 4 tries at it you dont deserve to win anyways. I know I like my chances of scoring from 6 inches, than kicking a field goal, trusting my defense to go 3 and out, and then having my offense have to drive all the way back down field against the best defense in the nation with a backup QB and have to score a touchdown. I am not a Kiffin fan but it was the right decision, it just didn't work it happens.

Only 10 post in this thread. Yet if Notre Dame would have lost it would have been full of told you Notre Dame was overrated. Brian Kelly failed to get it done, etc, etc. I know for as long as I have been on here I have heard people say how Notre Dame will never be good again, and never compete for titles again. How no one cares about Notre Dame anymore, and top recruits won't want to go there these days. How Brian Kelly was not the right hire, and how he won't get it done there. Yet they have proved everyone wrong, and yet no one is here to say anything about it?

For this year Notre Dame is back, and there is no reason to think they won't stay as a top team again for now on for a long time.

Well now we will find out who is right, is Notre Dame back, or are the haters right and Notre Dame is just average? After the BCS title game one faction will be eating crow, I'm still on the Notre Dame average boat, but I am excited that we get the chance to find out. Would have really loved to see this year with a playoff though, lots of teams could lay claim to deserving to be in the title discussion this year.

Huh? You can't be serious can you? So if they lose to an SEC team in the title game just like every other team has over the last 6 years, that shows that they are not back and were just average? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes perfect sense....

You keep beating on the Notre Dame is just average. However unless you say every single team in football this year is just average, then you have no basis to back your argument. The majority of the teams who you would make a case for still being better than Notre Dame have played easier schedules and still lost. So playing an easier schedule than Notre Dame and still losing wouldn't be a good case for you since Notre Dame played a harder schedule and didn't lose. Saying by the eye test is not a good case for you, considering we have seen how well the eye test works. The eye test shows no chance Oregon loses at home to Stanford, a team Notre Dame beat. Yet the eye test was wrong because Oregon lost. Eye test shows no way a freshman QB goes in to Alabama and lights up that great Bama defense. Yet eye test was wrong again. So shows the eye test is not a good argument for why they are just average and why other teams may be better. I know it is very hard to admit, but just face it Notre Dame is back at least this year, and deserve to be where they are. They are one of the best teams in college football, are they the best? We don't know that is what the National Championship game will prove. However if they lose just like every other team has to SEC teams over the last 6 years in title games, that does not prove they were just average. Just that whatever SEC team that ended up being was better. They would just go down as one of the best teams in college football for this, just not the overall best. The only way any Notre Dame fans should be eating crow after this, is if they say Notre Dame will go out and easily win. Other than that there is no crow to be taken for losing in a title game to an SEC team.

I think when they lose to an SEC team by 30 we can say they are just average. I believe the SEC champion will skull drag Notre Dame all over the field. I'll gladly sit down if I'm wrong, but like I said that's what's exciting we will find out how good Notre Dame is now, through no fault of their own their schedule turned in to a cupcake. They scheduled several teams that before the games were played looked like they would be top caliber teams.

This is BK's second undefeated regular season, I fully expect this team to put up as much fight against an SEC foe as Cincinatti did in 09.
