Kiffin screwed his team by not kicking a Fg and give his team a chance. Not sure how he is a head coach

True.

Easy to say after the fact. I would venture to say 90% of coaches go for it to in that scenario down 10 with 3 minutes to go on the 6 inch yard line against the #1 defense in the nation. No matter what they was going to have to score a touchdown to win the game, and if you can't get 6 inches in 4 tries at it you dont deserve to win anyways. I know I like my chances of scoring from 6 inches, than kicking a field goal, trusting my defense to go 3 and out, and then having my offense have to drive all the way back down field against the best defense in the nation with a backup QB and have to score a touchdown. I am not a Kiffin fan but it was the right decision, it just didn't work it happens.

Totally disagree. It was not the right decision.

If I were Alabama or Georgia I would much more want to play Notre Dame rather than Oregon (or another SEC team) in the national championship game.

You are down 2 scores you need points! At least 3 you give your team a chance. It's easy to say before and after. I was yelling it before he went for it

Six inches away. I go for it100% of the time.

Is Zach Martin OK? Also, is he the same kid who committed to Kentucky and then back out to choose ND?

Same kid.

Why? Oregon doesn't have much of a defense compared to the Irish. I get your point about the offense, but I think Alabama would slow that way down. For either SEC team, they'd score easier on Oregon than Notre Dame IMO.

I don't think they are scared of scoring against Notre Dame, sure they would score more against Oregon, but I believe most think the SEC champion will be able to score more than enough points to win against Notre Dame.

Ok so you had 6 previous tries before 4th down and only gains you made are on 2 penalties. I guess I need yours and Lanes coaching manual. Because mine says give your team a chance to win.!

Score more against Oregon? The only real defense we've seen Oregon play they scored 14 points...

I didn't say they were scared. Scared teams don't make championship games. FWIW, I don't expect the Irish to win, I hope they make a good game of it. I'm just glad to see them back.

You're ignoring the fact that his 4th down play was wide open.

Your ignoring the fact the pass was low and the offense struggled gaining 2 yards. Which ended all hope of the come back. I agree that you should be able to move 6 inches. I think play calling was awful from the beginning.

Pass was low. Still should have been caught. Fullback was wide open. Kiffin cant be blamed for that.

ND has played 9 teams that are bowl eligible. Bama has played 5. Georgia has played 4.

The ND haters are out!!! I love it!!

The haters keep fighting the slippery slope, every week it's something different. Oh well...

ND has proved every week why they are the best team right now. They get it done with defense--sorry feed the appetite for people wanting to see some gaudy offense. That's not ND, but it is also what keeps them in every single game. That said, I believe Bama's D will force Golson to make quicker decisions. Hopefully ND's stable of running backs can man the load.

Go Irish!!!!!
