Companies cut hours - citing Obamacare

Breaking Down Centi-Millionaire 'Papa' John Schnatter's Obamacare Math - Forbes

A. Correct - 15 cents per pie covers it.

2. The cost of the 2 million freebies exceeds the projected healthcare cost for the company.

D. Am I wrong (it's happened on occasion) - does the Act become effective in 2014?

.

I thought 2014 was the year also.

Can anyone verify?

I love my job. They told us in 2010 our healthcare costs will rise every year for the foreseeable future and so far they have. Glad my company doesn't use a scapegoat when the hard decisions have to be made.

I thought 2014 was the year also.

It is 2014, some parts have already started but everything really takes off in 2014.

^ If 2014 is indeed the year, why the mad rush? Is there a real need at this point in time?

Why delay the inevitable?

Why delay the inevitable?

Or why not overcharge now, make a scapegoat and then when it is enacted I can bump it up again and make another scapegoat. Kind of like gas prices.

If a business can't plan accordingly for things that take effect in 2014 then it's a wonder they are still in business. They should call my company for tips.

Pretty sure they're plenty successful without any "tips".

They need help for the off year elections, trying to tick people off so they would turn. How could that go wrong?. Oh, wait a minute.....

A companies job is to make money and cut overhead. Having to pay for health insurance they have never had to pay for would cut into profits, which in business terms means less money, the goal is to make more money, not less.

That is why businesses go overseas, cheap labor+ no insurance+ no beefits = more money

Would be curious to know why you feel people are entitled to free coverage while others foot the bill?

This is the biggest fallacy of those who are against Obamacare. The fact is if you don't want people getting free coverage, you should support Obamacare. That is one of the biggest reasons why I am in favor of Obamacare. I am tired of people not carrying health insurance and getting medical care. Obamacare will force the free loaders to get coverage and pay. Before Obamacare, everyone received medical attention when they needed it, even those with no coverage, and we paid for it. That is free health care. That will not happen under Obamacare.

The second biggest fallacy - Obamacare is a government takeover of health care. The fact is, before Obamacare almost half of this country was already receiving government health care. Obamacare is a restructuring of the government health care system that was already in place.

I just feel that as a civilized society that things work better if we pay for certain things collectively. Health care is one of those things. The right to live or die shouldn't be determined by what job you have or what family you were born into. Why do you feel it is okay for a child to die because thier parents have hit thier insurance limit or a hard working guy who a few months after being laid off finds out he has cancer?

So you're saying under Obamacare, a homeless person gets pneumonia (sp?) and goes to the clinic for care, they'll be forced to pay for coverage or be denied treatment? I call bull.

Pad the bottom line now and strike while the bash Obama iron is hot.

Because that's how the world works. People live, then they die. Those that are the fittest survive the longest, those that aren't, die off. Not all people get a fair shake. Life's not fair.

Papa John's is the worst ran pizza franchise in the world. I worked there for 5 years of my life and I had already vowed to never pay for their crap pizzas ever again before Schnatter started crying. If the state finals were still played at Papa John's stadium I wouldn't go. He's an idiot.
Be glad you have that choice!
