In a control and command economy that nosey, busybody Liberals love, small business gets choked and stifled. This country will look RADICALLY different 2 years from now. I understand what you are saying in the bolded Michael. However, the list you have is a local and state issue, not a federal one that Obama may have influence over. In truth the President has no impact on those little ones except that if federal taxes shrink and/or state also shrinks, your locality normally has to seek the revenue lost from the other other levels. For example, I held my state government responsible when Jim Gilmore was elected Governor solely on the platform of getting rid of the car tax. There was still need at the local level that the state tax helped. So what happened? Localities had to come up with creative ways to find the revenue.

What taxes would you eliminate . You need business licenses to protect the public from the unscrupulous . Local and municipal seem the same to me , they help fund the police and fire departments don't they . Payroll those you can eliminate . Property Taxes . Without them how are you going to pay for the entitlement programs that are public schools ?

My small business clients are looking very very hard at the 50 employee/30 hours per week threshold. I think we are going to see a lot of 25-28 hours per week positions replacing full time workers in companies with staff levels of 40 to 100. Now when the economy turns around the business owners will not have as much flexibility to cut hours as the employment pool will be smaller. That is probably when we will start to see the cost increases hit. They are also worried about what comes next. Obama is now a second term president which they fear will embolden him to try to push through policies that will further add to their costs.

November 14, 201213 yr Does anyone else find it ironic that the "providers" are forcing more people into becoming the "takers" they are railing against? Just received notification that two more customers have shuttered their plants, laying off about 1000 workers. Their formal releases both cited poor economic climate and conditions. I expect two more notices later this week. Their is no coincidence to these post-election announcements, I'm sure it's just these business people being spiteful. Does anyone else find it ironic that the very middle class that this adminstration is asserting to help, will be crushing it with it's policies,healthcare 'reform', taxation and unfriendly business environment.
