So I understand correctly Dixie was down 42-21 missing 2 starters in the 3rd. Came back and got a 2-pt conversion to take the lead 50-49.

 

HC then scored a TD on a flea flicker with about 30 seconds left. Dixie drove down to about the 30 and had 6 seconds left when NKYsports.com died on us. Not sure what happend on the last play other than it not being a TD.

 

Exciting game.

 

As I've said previously Dixie's QB is going to be tough the next 2 years.

I watched the last quarter on NKySports.com. Lots of kids making plays - all on the offensive side of the ball.

 

The video feed died with Dixie having 4th down at the HC 25. Would not have been surprised to have seen Dixie pull out another miracle. They scored on the previous drive on a 4th and 20 play.

Enjoyed the updates. Sounded like an instant classic.

Dixie has been a much better team in the second half all season so I am not surprised to see the comeback. It's a shame they fell short.

Great game if you like offense.....Drew Moore is a heck of an athlete!

What a fun game to watch, if you like offense as both defenses were atrocious. Dixie's backfield was horrible as they let 13 run wild on night. The kid was the main target on 95% of HC's throws, and they still couldn't slow him down. HC defense wasn't any better as Dixie ran all over them.

 

Offensive penalties in the first half killed Dixie in the end. They were in double digits with offensive penalties tonight.

 

The Bell kid was extremely impressive. The kid needs to touch the ball more. They need to work getting him the ball in the open. No-one will be able to take him down in space. 13 is a player too. He made Dixie's backs look bad.

 

Moore and Washington had huge games tonight. HC struggled to stop Washington between the tackles, and he also had a nice pick. Moore had a great game. He took a few sacks where he should have thrown the ball away, but those are mistakes he'll learn from. He really needs some receivers.

 

The sportsmanship from both teams was excellent. Both teams fought hard all night.

I'd say they were close to ten with just that, but add in the holds, and they were well over. They had to go on the first snap count all night, and I'm surprised HC didn't jump the snap at all.

Dixie had 20 penalties, including 14 false start, offside or illegal motion.

Moore is a treat to watch, his feet are very nimble.

This was by far the most exciting game I have ever seen in person. It's a shame someone had to lose. In the end HC made the plays needed to win and Dixie didn't. I do think the pass interference called on Dixie on the last drive was a bad call. I was right there on the sideline and Cox made a great play on the ball. I believe it would've set up a long third down for HC. Great call by Coach Simpson to win the game and how about Brossart going for 2 and converting? Stones.

 

Bell is one heck of an athlete. As good as Moore and Washington were tonight, Bell was that much better. Kickoff return for a TD. Long madden like run for a TD. And took a screen pass 83 yards to the house to give them the 49-42 lead.

I figured this would be close and high scoring and really thought Dixie could win, but it sounds like they made a hell of an effort. I believe the Dixie program has good days ahead coming.
