Yeah. Henry Clay had an awful passing game all year long. Congrats to them for turning it up come playoff time. Interesting, I heard an interview with Coach Simpson after a loss in the regular season, and he was optimistic and hinting towards what he thought they could do in the playoffs. Congrats For representing Lexington. One of the least likely candidates.

It's hard to believe HC was the three seed. They are loaded with athletes and have some big boys on the lines.

Coach Simpson told me before the game that turnovers and mental mistakes were what plagued them all year.

Dixie will be the top team in 6A the next couple years. They return a lot next year. Moore reminds me of a bigger, better passing Duran Jefferson. Very similar athletes as well.

Would the two starters that did not play, have had any effect on the outcome of the game for Dixie? What positions did they play or would that indentify the young men?

IMO, their passing game is still horrible. Dixie's pass defense is just that much worse. They let 13 roam free all game, and he made them pay as he's one heck of an athlete.

I'm not real sure on all the starters this year as I haven't watched nearly as much as I have in the past. I did notice one 'regular' not play at all, but have no clue on the reasoning, so I will not mention a number. However, with that said, no, they wouldn't have had any effect on the outcome of the game. That is, unless they have a 6'2" receiver/db running at least a 4.6 that they picked up along the way that I don't know about. Dixie has no speed on defense, and that's what hurt them as 13 flew past the db's all night long.

In all honesty, HC couldn't really stop Dixie's offense. Dixie's offense stopped themselves on numerous drives with dumb penalties. If they would've had 1 strong, solid receiver, they probably would've been able to make up for those penalties on the 2nd and 3rd and longs.

Wow, 20 penalties on the offense is crazy. However, Coach Brossart is trying something new with the offensive set/shift according to my son. In the Campbell game, Brossart had the offensive line try a different formation and was flagged for it 2 or 3 times. He got into a rather heated exchange with the referee over it.

The two suspended players are both starters. One a fast RB and the other one a WR. Both are fast. Both play DB. It may have been able to sop a drive or keep one going. With a 7 pt loss. Who knows.
