It doesn't have to have been written this year but that you read this year.

The best nonfiction book that I've read this year was 'Unbroken' by Laura Hillenbrand.

The best fiction book is 'The Racketeer' by John Grisham.

Both well written and I would highly recommend.

I've read a lot of fiction (by my standards) this year & the choice is easy: The Prophet ​by Michael Koryta.

The best non-fiction I've read this year was "Destiny of the Republic".

 

It's amazing how a POTUS changed the way medicine was practiced at the time, and not by legislation.

Non-fiction: Empire of Liberty by Gordon S. Wood (Everything I've read from the Oxford History of the United States has been unparalleled)

Fiction: A Fine Balance by Rohinton Minstry

I just grabbed this one off the "new fiction" shelf at the library. Recognized the title from your previous recommendation.

The only books that I've read for my own enjoyment this year were the A Song of Ice and Fire books. I have thoroughly enjoyed them so far.

READ? Are you kidding me? I have no time to read books, lol! I have over 8,000 pages to read for "continued education", no time for books. Well, one of the "extra" things I had to do for it was read Without Cloak Or Dagger. Good thing they put the book on the internet as the book is not cheap! It's now on my Christmas wish list.
