I do not see an undefeated UL team being ahead of a one-loss SEC team. It will be Bama and Oregon if they win out IMO even if ND and others win out.

Does the SEC winner automatically get a spot in the National Title game if said team has 1 loss (assuming 2 out of 3 from Oregon, KSU, and ND lose a game)? Has 6 consecutive national titles earned them that right?

October 29, 201213 yr Alabama's game at LSU won't be a walk in the park. I think they will win it but it's not easy to come out of Baton Rouge with a win. If they have a loss before the bowls then this game could be it. Actually as far as a national championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame, I would like to see that. The tv ratings would be off the charts. But I think it will end up being Alabama and Oregon.
October 30, 201213 yr Here's the problem w/ Oregon playing in the National Championship game. The way it is set up, they won't play a competitive game for over a month. Their offense is built on timing and speed. Run as many plays as humanly possible, run tons of draws, screens, and option reads. That layover cost them much of the first half against Auburn a couple of seasons ago. Alabama is a more ground based game, obvioulsy. The rust wears off much faster when you can line up and run than it does when you are trying to push the tempo. A National Title game is never going to be the best game possible until the layoff is cut down to two weeks MAXIMUM.

With the losses USC has taken, I'm not sure Oregon will jump Kansas State or Notre Dame. If Oregon State losses another one as well then Oregon's strength of schedule will drop.

They are like the Yankees in the sense every person has an opinion of them. Love or hate. Also the religious component plays a big factor whether people admit it or not.

Also the religious component plays a big factor whether people admit it or not. It's not religious for me so much, though I am not catholic. To me it's more how much the media wants them to succeed and often seems to overhype them. This year they are legit I agree, but some many times they are ranked super high, only to plummet. And the whole time before the fall all you hear on the football shows is how great Notre Dame is. Lou Holtz cheerleading for them and South Carolina drives me nuts too and is a big reason I root hard against USC.
