Notre Dame 30 Oklahoma 13

And yet they have still been all but irrelevant on the field over the last two decades. That's tough to do...
I am not sure "irrelevant" is the correct word. They have just sucked by the lofty standards usually bestowed upon them by the over hyping media. People still revel in and are there to laugh when they have go belly-up. I view "irrelevant" as ceasing to exist. Still probably talking about the same thing.

It's not religious for me so much, though I am not catholic. To me it's more how much the media wants them to succeed and often seems to overhype them. This year they are legit I agree, but some many times they are ranked super high, only to plummet. And the whole time before the fall all you hear on the football shows is how great Notre Dame is. Lou Holtz cheerleading for them and South Carolina drives me nuts too and is a big reason I root hard against USC.

If you listen to anything that Lou Holtz says, you will drive yourself insane. He's like the Great-Grandma in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Lou's kind of like Mike Ditka. They talk so fast that they begin a new sentence before ending the previous one.

I can't stand Mike Ditka. Easily the worst analyst in sports. When he does his radio spots I always switch the channel. Every sentence starts with, "well, X is a good football player/coach."
