I have never been to Alaska, but would love to visit during the summer. I hear it is beautiful. If life were a vacation that would be great, but I bet it gets terribly depressing there (evident by the suicide rate) 8 months out of the year and the beauty would soon fade. I consider Alaska the hot bimbo stripper of America. Nothing wrong with a few dates, but beyond that good luck. Just checked the 10 day forecast for Anchorage and it gets no higher than 39, averaging probably in the mid-20s. Can't wait to check it out once winter arrives.

Depends on the area. Some parts of Alaska get sunlight 20 hours a day and have average year round temps in the 50s. Others are more like Anchorage. Someone mentioned they call KY "God's Country", but that has to be reserved for Alaska. Beauty everywhere.

I have known several people who lived in Alaska. Some were born and raised Florida crackers, too. I say "have known", because all loved it so much, they moved back.

West Virginia.

West Virginia.

Lived there for a year, it does suck.

Depending on the part Mississippi is very nice. Oxford, Starkville and the suburbs of Jackson all have some really great places to live. Mississippi's problem is the huge poverty gap. The wealth between the have's and have nots is a great in Mississippi as anywhere in the country.

I'm from the Delta and no way would I ever go back! However I've mulled over a move to the Ocean Springs area for the past year or so!

As for me, no thanks Alaska!

Alaska.

Agreed, cool to visit maybe even for a few months but no way I'd want to live there.

Actually, I have an amendment to mine. Arkansas. That's a strange place.

Dad says most other states make fun of Kentucky, we make fun of West Virginia and they make fun of Arkansas.

It's a tie between:

Alaska-too cold

Hawaii-too expensive

Texas-too hot

New Mexico-too hot

North Dakota-too cold

South Dakota-too empty

Nebraska-too much corn

Kansas-reminds me too much of Kansas...the band

Alabama, outside of their football team the place sucks.

I really like Mobile and Birmingham.

Ohio. I'd immediately forget how to operate an automobile.

Kansas. I mean I like corn....but its everywhere.
