HT721
Mississippi Depending on the part Mississippi is very nice. Oxford, Starkville and the suburbs of Jackson all have some really great places to live. Mississippi's problem is the huge poverty gap. The wealth between the have's and have nots is a great in Mississippi as anywhere in the country.

I was just thinking, hot, humid, not very much beach area and a healthy supply of bugs, snakes and alligators.
UKMustangFan
You guys mentioning Alaska surely have never been there. Otherwise, no way they make the list. Ohio and it's not even close.

You avoid the gators at laest in the middle to northern part of the state. Everything else is there though in the summer time. Our first week there the thermometer outside our apartment read 112 one day.
HT721
Probably Florida for me, I'm just not a huge fan. If I need the beach I'd ten times rather move to south Carolina.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
Nevada for me...then probably Kansas, Iowa, or Oklahoma.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
Mine is unquestionably Utah. There's too much awesome natural beauty in Utah for me to put it last on my list.
swamprat
When you get out of Newark, NJ is a beautiful state. Same can be said of New York once out of NYC. No way I could live in either NYC or Newark.

bugatti
Actually, I have an amendment to mine. Arkansas. That's a strange place. I was about ready to post Arkansas. Not much good comes out of Arkansas. The Ozarks are nice, I guess.

I have never been to Alaska, but would love to visit during the summer. I hear it is beautiful. If life were a vacation that would be great, but I bet it gets terribly depressing there (evident by the suicide rate) 8 months out of the year and the beauty would soon fade. I consider Alaska the hot bimbo stripper of America. Nothing wrong with a few dates, but beyond that good luck. Just checked the 10 day forecast for Anchorage and it gets no higher than 39, averaging probably in the mid-20s. Can't wait to check it out once winter arrives. BIG BLACK JACK
I could not live up north (Great Lakes, Atlantic, North England). Not because of the scenery, but the freakin' people and their accents drive me nuts. If I HAD to pick one state, I would say Arizone (too hot) or Michigan (what is there, oh yeah nothing).
