I used to say this was the best show on TV, but I don't believe that anymore (although it's still my personal favorite). So I agree somewhat with Grizzly & PMIC.

 

However, TWD's great episodes are truly great. Their great episodes do comprise the best television IMO. The Sophia episode is some of the best television I have seen in a really, really long time.

It was great as a whole early on. Now it's mostly great as episodes instead of as a show. I get that. If the second half of season 3 could have matched the first half then we wouldn't be havin this discussion. Shoot if the finale had been worth something then I doubt we'd e having this discussion.

I'm sure all the turnover in Showrunners hasn't helped.

 

Of course, I feel like the quality of the comics regressed shortly after they left the prison.

You know, I really don't think the last episode was all that bad (Solid), but I think Mrs. SvFan4life hit it on the nose. There was no foreshadowing of the future. We know the Governor is out there and will do something, but what?

 

Also we know from the TV series there was a 7 month gap. We will see a 7 month gap with it picks back up in Oct? Do we honestly believe that the Governor leaves them alone for that long or will it be picking up a couple days later.

 

And also we know they will introduce Abrahams character at some point and the return of Morgan.

 

I went back and replayed the scene on You Tube. And now I believe that it was a shell casing and that they totally messed up that scene.

I watched it again and it still sounds like the gun falling to the ground. A shell casing would have bounced around more IMO.

This to me is actually a bad sign, the more viewers the more it loses it's edge and afraid to get rid of characters viewers like. Someone that reads the comics told me everyone but Rick died during the prison fight,is that true? I can't believe anyone actually likes any of those characters enough to not see them killed off. Shane and Merle were the best and they are gone. Give me a producer or writer with the balls to take out the entire cast and start new next season.

Almost true. It was most of them.

About everybody but Rick dying...no. In fact, most of them survived. The main characters who died in the prison fight were Tyreese, Lori & the baby. Others died while at the prison, but not necessarily in the fight itself (Herschel, Tyreese's daughter & her boyfriend, Carol...maybe a few others). But Rick, Carl, Dale, Andrea, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie, Sophia (probably others that I'm forgetting) all survived.

 

We disagree on killing off characters. I think what makes this show special is that central characters do die (Shane, Lori, Dale, Andrea, Merle), but I don't see value in a mass exodus. That's just me though.

I can tell you that I had no care that Andrea was eliminated. I think she had replaced Lori as the most despised character. (At least for me).
