I thought the same and even played it back. It sounded like a shell casing indeed. Compared to last seasons finale this was pretty tame. Definitely going to be interesting moving forward though.

 

I went back and replayed the scene on You Tube. And now I believe that it was a shell casing and that they totally messed up that scene.

My wife made an interesting comment...At the end of season 2 we were left with a shot of the prison in the background which gave strong indication of what was to come but season 3 seemed to have ended on a happier note instead of a little mystery or intrigue...

 

It would have been nice to catch a shadowy glimpse of The Governor in the woods watching the prison as the final scene....That would have made up for a lot IMO.

 

This is a really good point. Lot's of hanging questions with no real sense of cliffhanger.

I think overall that this season was much better for killing but really few things shocked me. Maybe the Governor killing his own people at the season end, but for shockers I thought it was tame.

 

I am with you. Justified jumped the shark last season and I quit watching.

I like watching Talking Dead, quite entertaining.

I guess it was the first time I had ever seen him out of character. He was dressed up, spoke well, and was articulate. I just expected Daryl to be out there.

I actually never watched a single episode of Walking Dead until about a month and a half ago. I saw one episode and I became instantly addicted and watched every single episode of every season since.

That season finale. There is a reason I laugh every time some one says this is the best show on tv. Last night they could have done something good but choked.

Now onto the episode. I loved The Gov hulking out. He really has made this season interesting. Been a great villian. I hope they leave him around for a while.

I don't think anyone has claimed it's "great" in the sense that it's going to win awards and what not but it's pretty good and is considered "great", if it is considered that, because of the fandom and attention it has received. It receives a lot of great reviews each episode and has been really consistent throughout the first 3 seasons.
