Solid episode but not great.

 

Agree on this. Very solid episode, but not the cliffhanger I was thinking. Andrea (while a massive ho) will be missed. This little prissy turd character Carl is - Please put him on my hate list.

 

Agreed. Could have locked them in and killed them. Also why create the daycare/nursing home at the prison vs. Woodbury. Only Gov. Plus 2 left.

 

They just the prison more.

Yeah. Not sure about the way Carl is heading. Complete opposite of comics. Do not like it.

I did like the .50cal scene of them mowing walkers down. (And a .50cal sounds just like that in real life)

 

I can see where Season 4 should open with a big episode now.

Also thought I heard an ejected shell casing hit the floor afterwards! I guess it could've been the gun itself, but I thought it would've made more of a thud.

Weak. This was incredibly weak. Yes, they killed Milton and Andrea. Milton, we all knew that was going to happen. Andrea, we all WANTED that to happen. But this episode was much like the last several. Nothing.... really..... happened. More stalling. They were afraid of killing the golden goose by losing the governor and so copped out.

Disagree with you saying they copped out...How so? He did not die when they attacked the prison in the comics so I'm not sure why the big surprise he didn't die tonight. Yes, all fans wanted and expected to see it but I think it adds more intrigue to see what happens now.

I thought he did die at the prison in the comics? I have it here - I will have to look again.

 

I see by him living where they have the makings of a HUGE beginning to Season 4.

They attacked, retreated, and then attacked again. He died in the second attack.

 

Essentially the first half of this year was similar to the first encounters with the Governor, except he only lost his eye instead of an eye and an arm (plus he didn't cut off Rick's hand). The second half saw them attack the prison once (though mostly for fear tactics), and then later attack again. In my opinion, this is still a similar parallel.

 

The TV show is not the comics. There are no set arcs in the comics. A season is 16 episodes on TV. What we are guaranteed now is that the final confrontation won't come for at least 8 episodes to the midseason finale (unlikely) or come in the season finale next year (bank on it). By that point fully 2/3 of the series will be playing out with this controntation, and they didn't do a bang up job playing it out over 16 episodes in the first place. The last half of this year was an almost complete waste.

I was cool with the episode. Interesting gov did not go back to Woodbury. There is no bad guy developed yet if the Gov goes away.

Which made me laugh because did any one else notice how after the gunshot there was a bullet casing bouncing..... I mean come on that so minor but they added something they didn't need to that screwed it up.

Right, I know it was the second attack but he never came back with other attack.
