5-star guard Young set to announce Thursday

Class of 2013 star James Young is set to announce his college choice Thursday on ESPNU’s “Recruiting Nation” from 5-6pm, according to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

 

 

While Young is also considering Kansas, Michigan State and Syracuse, all signs point to UK head coach John Calipari’s program.

“James Young is announcing his college choice tomorrow. As of today, if it’s not Kentucky, I’ll be shocked,” said Evan Daniels of Scout.com via his twitter account.

The 6-foot-6 guard recently visited UK’s campus and will likely make a return trip for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 12 should he choose the Cats.

On Thursday, the UK coaching staff will look to add yet another top-10 talent to their 2013 roster. Young could join the recently committed Harrison twins and Derek Willis, which already make up the No. 1 class in the nation.

There were times through the AAU season I thought he played like the best player in the class. Yes, better than the twins, Randle and Parker. He wasn't quite that good in July but he is really freaking good...
