But it is all relative. If you are asking for 1A teams that can beat top 10 4A teams, the top four or five 1A schools are all you are ever going to see have a chance at that. It is starting to sound like your comments are just what RAM was upset about - that you don't think any small schools (1A-3A) outside the top 5 in each class are good football teams. I think we need your definition of a good football team.

And I would argue Beechwood would have posted similar numbers against any 1A teams in the state outside the top 8.

The results above vs the district teams clearly makes my points unless you think BWood would beat those 2nd set of teams by the same margin or close later in the year..

My original point was , and still is, if Bellevue is #10 then Class A is weak overall.

You got "tore up" because you slammed Bellevue, one of the teams in Beechwood's district. Beechwood's district is not the worst in 1A. It is actually probably one of the top 3 or 4.

Call it what you want. It is "ridiculous" to insert a program that is not a Class 1A program currently. Its a ranking of current 1A programs based on history. What you are trying to do is a different ranking.

They were in Class A in four of the six years that VOR is referencing, so it isn't ridiculous at all.

I'm struggling to understand why my point is so difficult to follow. It doesn't matter who the top 9 are. Irrelevant. I'm simply saying that by no definition is Bellevue considered a "good" team. OK at best. So if "OK at best" is #10 my point stands.

You need to go back and read what I initially wrote.. It wasn't even about Bellevue, it was about Beechwood.. The only reason Bellevue, Dayton and Ludlow got brought into it was because of the yearly "We're peaking at the right time or we're playing our best ball of the year or we're always better when it counts" sayings that the Tiger fans always spew out this time of year.. And all I wanted to say is how do you know you're peaking playing teams you're beating 40 or more points and have been, more times than not, for years and years. Surely, beating these 3 teams 50-7 or something similar and playing 2 to 2 1/2 qtrs of football for your starters, is not where ya'll are getting these comments from, is it?

 

Also, noone was comparing any districts to any other districts, so, no need to even go there or try defending it. I even made the statement that it was similar for Mayfield and they worry more about complacency and not getting kids hurt during this time. I never know if Mayfield is peaking or not because I can't get a read on a team thats playing far inferior opposition and the results I posted above show that to be the case..

Great illustration and I do understand that point, but I think most classes have similar situations. They may not be as pronounced as Class-A, but the separation is there.
