I did the same thing for Dayton and Ludlow... Beechwood vs Dayton since 2006, 7-0 record for Beechwood, avg margin is 49.7 points to 3.4 points.. Vs Ludlow, 8-0 record fpr Beechwood, Avg margin is 53.9 points to 5.9 points

 

Total vs all 3, 25 wins 0 losses, with an average score of 52 points to 7... I think these facts prove my point...

If you believe that Bellevue is even in the conversation for #10 or anywhere near it my point stands. It doesn't matter who else they are competing with. I have a baseline of their level of talent. Any team that is considered around them or in competition for #10 is irrelevant to the point I'm making.

Yes, I believe they are in the argument. But where have you gauged your baseline? It may be askew. Are you basing your baseline on Beechwood's performances, or on the performances of other 1A teams? In other words, how has Bellevue faired against other 1A programs. I think you have an unrealistic expectation of what a "good" team is, no matter what class they are.

No. BW being really good or just pretty good has no bearing on my point. Actually the 9 ahead of Bellevue have no bearing on my point.

Perhaps this is more toward your argument. Bellevue's 3 wins are all over 2A schools, two of which have 3 wins and the other is 5-2. Based on teams I have seen (if we use the eyeball test), Bellevue would be a solid 2A team just a notch below Lloyd and Holy Cross and on a good day may beat either one of those teams.

And I would argue Beechwood would have posted similar numbers against any 1A teams in the state outside the top 8.

According to the last KHSAA enrollment report put out, Beechwood was # 33 and Mayfield #35, and NCC #34.. So, it's feasible that Mayfield and Beechwood could move up and NCC move down. But, if the last enrollment report is an indicator, Crittenden Co and Ft Knox would be the 2 schools that would move down.

 

Bishop Brossart is almost a lock to drop from 2A to 1A.

I agree about the other teams being good, but here is the crux of my argument: I have lived 1A football for over 25 years and outside of the top 3 or 4, Bellevue has been competitive with the other teams over the years.

 

Now, this is not an "Every year" conclusion, for instance, this year Bellevue could very well beat Pikeville and Holy Cross.

Folks in 2009 Bellevue was a 2 seed. Bishop Brossart was the 4 seed

My original point was , and still is, if Bellevue is #10 then Class A is weak overall.
