Ole Belfry0304 here sent Barker a tweet a few weeks ago that he ended up retweeting me, don't hate on me too bad but I told him to be careful about Kentucky, they're going to expect a whole lot, really fast... not a lot of patience in the BBN and even though it's a different sport Archie Goodwin was a prime example of that.

 

That being said, here's to hoping the kids a Gamecock or Wildcat.

So true! A school has a chance for one of the top QB's in the country, you can't sit on your hands and lead him along like dangling a carrot in front of a horse.

 

OSU has no one to blame but themselves. SC has done it right from the start and if he chooses not to go there, they know they did everything possible to have as good of a chance as anybody.

 

I think it is pretty obvious now that Barker is way farther down OSU's recruiting board than most Buckeye fans thought. There are a lot of Buckeye fans that wanted Barker to get an offer but since he still has not been offered the OSU staff must like the other QB's better. Best of luck to Drew!

He told them about 3 months ago he was moving forward without them when they wanted him to visit this spring for the 6th time with no offer. They contacted him last week and he told them that he was making a decision in about a week and a half and they went their seperate ways. There is no bad blood between either parties, just how recruiting works!

But that's the beauty of twitter. The interaction. IMO, the players that don't want contact aren't on twitter.

I think you are technically correct and we did see UK end a relationship with a booster in Columbus a few years ago.

 

However, I see no way in heck the NCAA can enforce the rule when it comes to Twitter unless the tweeter is a known and listed rep of the university.

You can learn a ton about teenagers on twitter. A ton. Way too many Eddie Haskells out there and most fail to recognize who all is following them. They tell on themselves quite a bit.

I admire Drew for going ahead and making "HIS" decision. Being a die-hard Buckeye fan there is no one (outside of him and his family if that was the case) in NKY that wanted him to go to OSU more than me. OSU had one target and one target only in DeShawn Watson out of GA (Clemson commit since his Sophomore year) which is why they have made only 1 offer to a QB to show they were serious about who they wanted. Bad part for OSU is Watson is not wavering one bit and is solid with the Tigers. Like RE said, both decided to part ways with no animosity which is the way it should be. This is the recruiting game folks and this is the way this process works, so it's not anyone's loss and it's not a big deal.

 

Best of luck to Drew. Great young man and great family. My bet is on South Carolina and not UK but either one along with the 13 or 14 schools who have offered are going to be good fits for one reason or another.
