My money all along has been SC. I'd love to see him go to UK for personal reasons (easier to go watch him play etc.) but I think the best fit for Drew would be South Carolina for the following reasons. HC is former Heisman winner at the QB position, very offensive oriented and plays a style of offense that I think would compliment Drew the most as it is a lot closer to a pro style offense than what UK will be running. Would also step right in as the 2nd string QB which will mean more snaps in practice than if he was buried in the depth chart to 4 or 5 as a true Frehsman as well as SC has made it very clear to Drew that he was the only QB they were pursuing from the class of 2014.

 

I just think SC is the perfect fit for Drew.

I'd love to see him pick SC for all of the reasons that Hellbird just posted. I'd love to see him at UK just because I love seeing kids from Kentucky excelling at any state school in any sport.

 

I'll also add that since it seems to be between UK and SC for Barker's services that UK's football program has done a complete 180 in a short amount of time and that is amazing. I wasn't big on the Stoops hire initially but if he can come in and battle for the services of Barker while Spurrier has been working on Barker for years then UK's football program is in good hands. It should be a no brainer to pick SC and Spurrier over Stoops and UK but because it isn't I am extremely impressed by Stoops and company even if they don't land Barker.

It's not a definite he comes in as the #2. They have a kid that enrolled in January that is supposedly very good.

That isn't too bad if you ask me, including a Heisman trophy winner. 5 NFL QB's in just 11 years coaching at Fla isn't shabby if you ask me.

I think in the past, Spurrier did not often go after highly rated qb's because he felt that he could take the average and make them better. I now feel that he has decided to go after highly rated qb's to lessen the learning curve and have qb's with much higher ceiling.

When the choice is between Stoops at UK who has no track record or Spurrier at SC that has a track record and was a former Heisman QB and NFL QB and at least half a dozen QB's he coached that went to the NFL, I think it's a better track record than Stoops. That's why I said that.
