Who will be the coach at St. Henry- and how do they stack up in there district

Featured Replies

Anyone have any insight on the new coach at St. Henry? Also how do they look for next year compared to what the other teams in their district have.I know Dixie should be the favorite.

Unfortunately, Dixie only returns 2 players who saw substantial playing time and niether really pitches. Therefore, not sure I would tab them as the favorite.

Wow this may be Ludlows year.lol.I was not aware the Dixie lost so many starters. I think Lloyd lost some starters and I know St. Henrys well is dry Villa Madona is never a threat.I think Lloyd will be ok I know they have the Stevens kid who can play also Brown is a solid pitcher but not sure who else is coming back.

I think Lloyd loses alot to graduation however, with what they have returning and some good JV player's should be ok. JD

I have seen a few of Lloyds games looking at a few players last year.Besides Brown and Stevens who do they have coming back?Thats a pretty good 3-4 combo but is there anyone to protect them in the lineup? And hows the pitching look besides Brown?

I have heard Doug Peddicord was up for the job. He was their pitching coach last year. I'm sure there are others with there name in the pool. Has anybody heard more about the situation?

What is D. Peddicord's coaching backround besides last year as the pitching coach at St. Henry? any HS experience besides that, does anyone know.

If I'm not mistaken Doug played HS baseball at Simon Kenton in the early 80s and was a star pitcher for the Pioneers. He also has an older brother that was a pretty good player as well.

Doug went to Scott High School and yes was a good pitcher and 1st Baseman. His brother Mark played at Simon Kenton.

You are correct. My memory isn't as good as it used to be. :thumb:

I just saw where Doug is being inducted into the NKY athletic directors hall of fame. This is the blurb from the site:

Doug Petticord, Scott (1976-1980): In wrestling, he was team captain in 1979 and the 185-pound district champion in 1980, in addition to finishing fourth in the region and qualifying for the state meet. In baseball, he belted six homers and hit .560 as a senior, which was second in the region, and drove in 27 runs. On the mound, he no-hit Newport and finished his final year with a 1.52 ERA and was named all-region. He set eight Scott records and was named Scott’s Mr. Eagle Athletics. Although it has his name spelled wrong in the article, a very nice recognition.

I believe he is running the off season workouts at St.Henry but would be surprised if he is the head coach. Not that he wouldn't do a good job, but figured he would be busy watching his son play at Hanover.
