Well, if they get that far, it will be a moral victory. The 6A title trophy already has Trinity engraved on it. SK doesn't have a snowballs chance against Trinity. If, and I do mean if, SK is to make it to the title game, they will get beat... BAD

This was a slobberknocker. Both Ds stepped up their games I really have to question, but thank, X for going for it on 4th and goal. The way points were being scored in that game ANYTHING on the board would have been huge and X has a huge kicker.

 

I understand X wanted to put it away but the coach from X has to be kicking himself. Like you said, points weren't coming easily and they just passed on 3.

Oh I am well aware. This was a poke at his rediculous/ignorant comments not SK.

A lot closer than most thought, not many people would have guessed T would have had to rally and go for a game winning drive at home. Good win but work to do.

Not only was Dawkins not 100% but Reggie Bonofon didn't even dress. People forget what an asset he is. Takes pressure off of James Quick who was nearly trippled teamed all night. Trinity's playmakers were basically Wright, Quick and a 80% at best Dawkins.

 

Once again Jason Hatcher was awesome. He was running past the O-line on every play. Had several big sacks. Their QB was basically counting to three and throwing. To X's credit their receivers made some nice shoe top catches and kept on their feet. Trinity was awesome against the run. The play they couldn't stop was what I call the Beechwood play. The behind the line HB pass. Finally on St.X's last drive Bertram blew it up.

 

So glad we won but Coach Specht for X blew it. If you take the FG's you win. Their fans were livid at him afterward. They won everywhere but on the scoreboard.

 

IMVHO - that is HUGE. Unless I have missed it somewhere - that is the first reference I saw - to the fact that fine young man was not on the field.

Certainly a disappointing loss for X as they seemed to have outplayed Trinity. That's two weeks in a row of questionable play calling by St. Xavier's HC, St. Steve Specht. Their reward after losses to Colerain and Trinity...Moeller. If St. Xavier loses much more, they won't qualify for the playoffs here in Cincy.

Given the holes we are still working to fill I think it is definitely worth mentioning that we don't have anything set in stone at this point. Anyone who saw the game against X from Cincinatti knows we were lucky to come out of that one with the win.
