Jim Schue Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I know what mine is. Seeing the scorebook from a recent Bell Co.-North Laurel freshman game and each and every single point was a free throw. That's right, all 70 points in the 44-26 BellCo win were free throws. I can only imagine how ugly that game was to watch.
All Play No Work Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Wouldn't that be nearly impossible? Even if the teams combined shot 70 for 100 (70%) that would mean at least 50 shooting fouls or fouls once in the bonus situation. Very likely there would have to be at least 60 fouls to reach 100 shots. And if the teams shot (50%) then you would need about 80 fouls. Would the teams have enough players to finish?
Jim Schue Posted January 11, 2006 Author Posted January 11, 2006 That can't be real. I know what you mean. I couldn't believe it, but I'm sitting here looking at it right now. I'm just glad I wasn't there.

Well, oftentimes at the lower levels the bookkeeping is sketchy, and they have to have slacked on marking down fouls, based on what I'm seeing. But that's the scoresheet they sent us.
LeeCoBobcatFan Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Wow that is wierd. Sounds like one of those believe it or not things.
4chs Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 The end of regulation of the Corbin/Clay Co. regional tournament game played at Clay Co. in 1996.
ladiesbballcoach Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 A fan coming out of the concession area at Nicholas County to rip the whistle off of an official. The whistle was the type that attached to the shirt's zipper. Fan ripped it right off.
EQUUS GREVYI Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 That may also qualify as the most disturbing thing you have ever seen.
AverageJoesGym Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 During a Somerset/Pulaski Co. game in '86 someone turned a live rooster loose in the gym. It managed to halfway fly around one of the goals because it jumped off the top of the endzone stands.
Boucher Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Obviously someone didn't know how to keep a book. What year was it Jim? Can you tell?
Patveep Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Long, long ago Holmes had a 1 point lead and was holding the ball. Hebron High was trying to decide whether to foul when suddenly the score keeper, without warning or consulting with anyone, put up 2 more points for Hebron. Holmes took a hurried last shot and missed and Holmes promising season was over. I ran into John Crigler, who benefited from that situation, a couple of years ago and he labelled it "the wierdest thing he had ever seen in basketball".
skfan Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 The weirdest thing I have ever witnessed in High School Basketball was around three seasons ago at the Fifth Third Holiday Classic in a game between George Rogers Clark and Hatsboro, Pa. I saw one of Clark players smack one of Hatsboro's players and when he saw he got away with it , he then proceeded to strike him as hard as he possibly could. You could hear it all over LexCath's Gym but neither referee saw either blow. They had to carry the Hatsboro player off of the court. This was probably 4 years ago Mike Brock's senior year at Sk.
LOVETHOSERHOUNDS Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 The end of regulation of the Corbin/Clay Co. regional tournament game played at Clay Co. in 1996. Um yeah, no doubt about it!
Les Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Um yeah, no doubt about it! I'll agree. I've never witnessed a game like that in my entire life. Mike Deaton's quote to me was that it was a Travesty and something to the fact that no wonder nobody can beat them here.
