I know what mine is. Seeing the scorebook from a recent Bell Co.-North Laurel freshman game and each and every single point was a free throw. That's right, all 70 points in the 44-26 BellCo win were free throws. I can only imagine how ugly that game was to watch.

Wouldn't that be nearly impossible? Even if the teams combined shot 70 for 100 (70%) that would mean at least 50 shooting fouls or fouls once in the bonus situation. Very likely there would have to be at least 60 fouls to reach 100 shots. And if the teams shot (50%) then you would need about 80 fouls. Would the teams have enough players to finish?

Well, oftentimes at the lower levels the bookkeeping is sketchy, and they have to have slacked on marking down fouls, based on what I'm seeing. But that's the scoresheet they sent us.

Long, long ago Holmes had a 1 point lead and was holding the ball. Hebron High was trying to decide whether to foul when suddenly the score keeper, without warning or consulting with anyone, put up 2 more points for Hebron. Holmes took a hurried last shot and missed and Holmes promising season was over.

I ran into John Crigler, who benefited from that situation, a couple of years ago and he labelled it "the wierdest thing he had ever seen in basketball".

The weirdest thing I have ever witnessed in High School Basketball was around three seasons ago at the Fifth Third Holiday Classic in a game between George Rogers Clark and Hatsboro, Pa. I saw one of Clark players smack one of Hatsboro's players and when he saw he got away with it , he then proceeded to strike him as hard as he possibly could. You could hear it all over LexCath's Gym but neither referee saw either blow. They had to carry the Hatsboro player off of the court. This was probably 4 years ago Mike Brock's senior year at Sk.

Um yeah, no doubt about it!

I'll agree. I've never witnessed a game like that in my entire life. Mike Deaton's quote to me was that it was a Travesty and something to the fact that no wonder nobody can beat them here.
