At the beginning of the season he only needed 102 more three pointers to become Kentucky's all time leader In three point goals.

 

Last year he lead the state with 120 made three pointers.

I have to go with Ryan Cochran of St. Mary's. In his career from 1998 -2002 he connected on 398 three pointers in 991 attempts for a cool 40.2 pecent!

I remember when Ford and his Maroons came to Rupp, he was in range as soon as he passed half court, and he had the green light.

Ryan Cochran had a beautiful stroke, and I really enjoyed watching him shoot.

 

But the best shooter in high school, ESPECIALLY from long range had to be Ervin Stepp. Incredible range, and unbelievable accuracy.

 

Frances

Chris Lofton would pull from 5 ft. behind the NBA line on a regular basis..............................and hit! I saw him score 54 points on his senior night. One time during that game shot from the front edge of the halfcourt circle and swished it. A Phenomonal shooter.

Scott Draud

I too will go with Scott Draud. I have seen a lot of shooters Chris lofton included but Scott was the best!IMO

How did Ervin Stepp and Winfred Hughes get on that list... :confused:

 

I didn't think the three became a part of the game until 1987.

From the first mention of Stepp down is a different list.

Stepp never hit a three pointer in a high school game - they didn't exist then. IF they had, his name would be #1 on that list - and by a wide margin.

 

As Clarence Carter would say "He was Strokin'".

Why is Mitchell McClure on there twice?

Ron Dawn and Mark Krebs from New Cath could shoot the three well.

Mark Krebs did shoot the three well, and so did Michael Zimmerman. But those two don't even compart to Ronny Dawn. I played against him numerous times. I've seen every type of defensive player try to gaurd him and it was almost impossible. I have nightmares of Ronny sprinting down the floor with the ball and then just one dime he would pull up from anywhere and knock it down. I really thought he could have played at a higher level than Marshal

I seen Scott Draud score 46 points one night, (Of course before the 3 point line.) But over half of his shots made, were 20 footers or so!!!
