It's just....underwhelming. Most of the cool stuff you can do on the phone you can do on the 4s with the updated system. Yeah sure, it'll be faster, bigger screen, a bit thinner, better battery life... But I don't think anyone really complains about the speed of the 4s. It's plenty fast, IMO.

I'd say every new launch is going to be disappointing to most and folks will still run out and buy the new one. This is the third launch in a row folks seems to say...ehhh, not impressed....but then each new phone sells more than the last one did.

 

People are getting spoiled. There isn't much they can do to improve phones these days.

 

They made a phone that is lighter in weight, bigger in screen size, thinner, runs faster (LTE) etc..and people are disappointed. When those with the 4s see people with the iPhone 5, they will want one. That's how it works. When I got my 3G, the 3GS came out 6 months later and I wanted it. I waited and bought the iPhone 4. When the 4s came out, I wanted one. I waited, so now I'm buying the 5. When the 5G or 5S or 5 whatever comes out, I'll want one. But I'll wait for the 6 :lol:

I think this phone has came a long way. Those who say they are underwhelmed are just spoiled. Could you have imagined a phone ever this small yet do powerful that it runs faster and smoother than a lot of computers, and has a pretty good camera as well.

Some people will be that way because they have to have the newest and fastest stuff as soon as it comes out. That's just my personal take on it. It will be a great phone - all the iPhones are. It will be faster, lighter, etc. than the current ones. It just doesn't come packed with any sort of innovation that makes me think I have to have it NOW.

Why wouldn't you want to upgrade if you have a 4?

 

You get bigger screen, Siri, faster, Better camera, better battery...

 

And you can sell an iPhone 4 16gb right now on eBay for $200 which is the upgrade price.

Sadly so do I. Where I work at I have great reception outside, but inside it's HORRIBLE and a lot of that has to do with it being a rather large building and full or wiring for thousands of computers that are all hooked to the internet. I might as well work in a copper mine.

Agreed! Most of the tech experts that are not Apple crazy say that the iPhone is always trying to catch up with the competition.

 

Having said that, When I get back in the US next month I plan to buy the 5, as I still have the 3. But I have thought the past few months about the Galaxy III, I am a little dissapointed that the 5 is not a little wider as well.

Why would you want a phone that's not as good? Why pay $100 now for something that's 2nd best. Remember if you pay $100 you are signing a contract. Which means you will keep that second best phone for probably 2 years.

 

If you want an iPhone and are willing to pay $100 I think it would be stupid not to get the 5, which is obviously going to be a better phone.

 

And the 4 is okay, but the 4 doesn't even have Siri. It's out of date, which is why they will give it away.
