I'm not sure what the defensive braintrust were thinking by not trying to pressure Bridge Water, he had all day to sit back and pick UK apart. I hope that he is as good as he looked today and that the Cats are not as bad defensively as they looked.

 

The offense looked pretty good for UK, with the exception of the fumbles, thought they made a mistake in getting away from the run in the 3rd quarter though.

That's as bad as I've seen a UK defense. Nobody close to Winston Guy as Simpson really struggled. UK moved the ball even though they can't throw over 10 yards! UofL's defense wasn't very good either. UofL might not loose a game. Trinity would be the best team on their schedule. Figured this was going to be a very painful year for UK football. They didn't dissapoint.

Teddy is a lot better than I thought he would be.

 

However, completing 19/21 is more about UK's D than his ability to QB.

It was interesting to see Charlie take it easy on Joker.

Cobble was the only defender to play even decent for the UK Defense. Joker said the 2 Frosh RB's would play and get reps, well garbage 2 plays by 1 at the end ain't gettin them reps. Fumbles by Williams and Sanders were a killer but Smith looked fine at QB. Minter hasn't helped this Defense get better at all. Sad. And if I have to hear Joker again talk about how great Demarco Robinson is I'm gonna puke. I'm convinced the staff cannot evaluate talent.

UK fans please ask me why Joker would hire Rick Minter? Yes he has worked at several places, but his defense has been horrible every place he has been.

I really liked Smith yesterday and thought Randy Sanders called a nice game. I just don't think the defense will get enough stops for the cats to help out the offense.

UK's O was definitely better then I expected although they better find a way to throw the ball down field.

UK's D was alot worse then I expected. UL's O did whatever they wanted while Bridgewater was in there.

 

UL's D needs some work. Could have been first game jitters.

UL has a special player in Bridgewater. He throws a very nice ball and seems to have a cannon. Makes smart decisions, doesn't seem to get rattled.

I think you can trace UK's struggles back to the decision(s) Joker made to overhaul the staff. He replaced quality position coaches with recruiters and it shows.

At least my nose is down and not up in the air like Lville fans, surprised many Card fans didn't drown from the rain and their noses being stuck up in the air. Arrogant fans.

When you have a coach(Coach Minter) that brags about how complex his defensive system is and how difficult it is to learn that is a recipe for disaster. That spells indecisive players and you cannot play defense that way, no matter how talented they are!!!
