Is Chapman in the running for Cy Young?

I definitely think he has to be. Buster Olney seems to think so as well.

Very happy for the win; I knew this series wouldn't be easy coming in.

I'd take him over Leake any day.

He was with futurecoach.

Homer had a great outing today. However when Leake has a good start and Homer struggles, will that prove that Leake should then? We can go back one game to their last starts, and all of a sudden Leake looks like the much better choice.

I would chose Leake. Since the first month of the season Leake has been better.Since the first month his ERA is better and for the season Leake has a better WHIP, gives up less homeruns, less hits, less walks, and also a better ERA since the first month. Homer has had an ERA over 6 in 2 of the last 3 months. Homer has 18 more strikeouts than Leake. Honestly they are pretty close in every area. However when add the pressure of a big game in the playoffs, and I just think Leake would handle it better. Obviously we don't know how either would truly handle a playoff game, but IMO Leake would handle it better. Which could I be wrong definitely, but just as easily as people could be wrong on Homer. However when it comes between choosing between Homer and Leake it definitely is not as far off as some people on here try to make it to be. Especially when looking at the numbers.

He definitely will be in the conversation.

Pirates lost 7-5 in 10 innings.

I thouroughly enjoyed watching last nights game. This is how it should be.

You can't just throw out the first month, and as far as Homer having an ERA over 6.00 in 2 of the last 3 months. Simply not true. He doesn't have an ERA over 6.00 in any month.

Since GT left out my post last series that said the people were wrong that said Rolen should play 3rd when Votto comes back I'll make this one a lot more clear. Frazier is 3rd in the NL and 2nd in OPS among 3B. Of course he hasn't played exclusively 3rd but it's hard for me to think Rolen deserves much of that time when and if Votto gets healthy.

Jonathan Broxton has faced 28 batters as a Red and struck out three of them.

Ouch. Not good.

Didn't Broxton strike out the side in his first appearance? If so then he hasn't fanned anyone since.

No, he fanned one in his 1st appearance as a Red.

Spread Arroyo, Leake and Bailey across games 3&4 if you have to. Figure out which of the 3 can come out of the bullpen if needed. Very quick hook for either of the starters if they get in trouble and go to the guy in the bullpen.

Pitch Cueto in GM 1 & Latos in GM 2. Pitch them again whenever they are able to go on regular rest based on schedule & results.
