While my assumption is that Coach Smith will fall like all of the UK coaching staff at the end of this season (justified or not), if X were to offer the job before the coaching staff was let go, would he leave UK for X?? I have no idea.

I think it would be difficult to pry him away- he already leads a program with a similar profile to X and I bet they pay coaches more in Georgia than in Kentucky.

Todd Walsh - 1986 grad of St X, in the building now, Defensive Coordinator and part of a longtime St X service family. A really good choice.

Bart Bruner- He is also in the building but His Nelson county record was 9-14 in 2007 and 2008.

Pat Chitwood- Believe it or not, very creative but probably not HC. Also in Building.

Stephan Lafors- CAL is very similar to his high school, very good offensive and defensive mind and would add excitement, went 8-5 last year

And I am told the favorite to take over at X is:

What about Ty Scroggins from Central? Is there another coach that has done more ( except Coach Beatty and Mueller) ?

What about Mark Sanders from Iroquois?

Scott Carmony from Butler- took over a 0-11 team in 2008 and made the semifinals of the state last year with an 11-3 record?

I hope that they open a national search. I was asked about this opening by a coach in Texas. they would do well if they went national with this search. There are firms they could hire to help them manage it, even. I think they could make a huge splash with this hire if they managed it well.
