I'm saying that if a kid that is unhappy with his athletics situation (coach/team/success/playing time) he's not transferring to BW for their academics. It is subferfuge.

Academics isn't THE reason, but in many cases it is definitely a factor. I have been told that first hand by a number of parents.

 

In the situation of a dissatisfied kid, he can go to a number of different schools. When his family starts to look at alternatives, you are saying Beechwood academics is not a factor?

Education is used as a justification. It's hardly ever THE reason. Athletics always drive it.

After looking at Beechwood's roster I noticed a lot of kids that where not on their roster last year. I know of at least 6 players that came from a different school.

 

Back to his question. Why does it matter? You seemed to have disappeared.

Touche on the spelling error, I am aware of a number of families who moved and or transfered their kids into the BW school district because of the academic opportunity, yes their kids played sports, some even football, but they were not the most talented and were not players of any magnitude...but they were all great students.

Who cares!!! They are a 1A school that has to dig down to middle and elementary schools to field many sports (track, cross country, etc). Let them do what they must to survive! No one is asking about HC and how many out of towners they have. Again, another program that did what they needed to do to survive. Go tigers!

You forgot about the kid who transfered in from Toledo Widmer (not sure of the spelling) when his family moved to Ft. mitchell, Coach Rash must be getting really good, his reach extends to northern Ohio...

When Beecwood rolls and wins undefeated title season this year then you can start the "what if" thread. Until then, they just have some kids that maybe moved for a parent's job or just felt that they weren't getting to start at their respective school and feel that they have a better chance at a school with less players. Go tigers! Great respect for a storied program.

You decide what counts and what doesn't count. Most people could care less. If a kid is unhappy with his athletic situation and wants to transfer then he can go most anywhere he chooses. If you think the majority goes to Beechwood then maybe there is an underlying reason for it. Do you think a kid wants to improve his athletic situation by transferring to a school with a good football (sports) program with a terrible academic reputation and in a less than desirable community? Beechwood/Fort Mitchell packages all those attributes in a very positive light. So does Highlands/Fort Thomas. Smoke 'em if you got 'em, my friend.
