August 11, 201214 yr It was kinda cute when Candidate Romney introduced Rep. Ryan as "the next President of the United States". I read about that.
August 11, 201214 yr ^ Some may find this hard to believe, but ol' liberal papa was watching the speech.

August 11, 201214 yr Should Paul Ryan be running for President and Romney the VP? On your first question, yes. I heard that he took his 3 young children into consideration as the reason he did not throw his hat in the ring for President.

August 11, 201214 yr Author Even though ryan is 42 he is far more experienced that MITT and has less bagage:isurrender:
August 11, 201214 yr I heard that he took his 3 young children into consideration as the reason he did not throw his hat in the ring for President. Perhaps. But I don't see how being the running mate will be all that different. From what little I know of Ryan, I like him.
August 11, 201214 yr Perhaps. But I don't see how being the running mate will be all that different. From what little I know of Ryan, I like him. I know, it does not add up. Perhaps a change of heart. Just some texts I got from my Wisconsin people who are thrilled that he is the candidate.
August 11, 201214 yr Rep Ryan graduated from Miami O in 1992 so it's not a shock he's a conservative. Get ready to be ponded on Medicare.
August 11, 201214 yr ^ Some may find this hard to believe, but ol' liberal papa was watching the speech. You have to know your enemy.
August 11, 201214 yr I can't wait for the Ryan/Biden debate. Just because you are such a huge fan of debates?
August 11, 201214 yr Rep Ryan was greatly influenced by Ayn Rand ("Atlas Shrugged"). I think it's a strong , maybe bold, move by Gov Romney. He's going to have to deal with the Medicare issue that will be mentioned over and over but this guy is certainly tuned into budget items even if we all don't agree on his strategy. He knows budgets. Not sure where you're getting 'greatly influenced' from. He doesn't do a good job following her philosophy - at all. I don't care what he says. His votes and proposed policies have proved it.
August 11, 201214 yr Should Paul Ryan be running for President and Romney the VP? Will Ayn Rand hurt him/them in the Bible Belt? When people hear of Ayn Rand, I don't think atheism is their first thought. If they have heard of her its usually about her libertarian philosophy and advocacy for a pure free-market. Those things are what she was mostly criticized for and what her interviews were about.
