Cabrera MVP according to his peers

Trout MVP according to front office weasels.

Triple Crown is rare.

Trout's stat line has never been accomplished.

Another old crotchety guy for Cabrera.

Them young whippersnappers and their saber meters.

I didn't say my vote would go to Cabrera. I was just stating facts.

Albert Pujols major struggles early in the year have nothing to do with that? It's not all Trout but he's pretty awesome.

Trout is the only person in history with 30 HR, 45 SB and 125R

Correct. If we're using rarity as a measuring stick....

So we are using rarity as the measuring stick?

That seems to be the argument ie it happens so infrequently that it makes it automatic.

Pretty unreal that a guy who won the TC might not win the MVP.

I do agree with this. If you would've told me the triple crown winner didn't deserve the MVP I'd have never believed you.

My arguement is the guy lead the league in HR, BA, and RBIs.

Why do you think it happens so infrequently? If the basis for winning awards was just infrequency of accomplishment then the Cy Young Award would go to anyone who throws a perfect game.

Trout winning the MVP is part of the sabermetric culture of today's game. Not saying that is right or wrong, just the reality of the situation.

I'm not even sure if you need to go to that level of stats.

Avg/runs/stolen bases/slugging/OPS plus defense make him my choice.

The rest is just for good banter.
