Probably the most impressive baseball achievement I've ever seen in my lifetime. Factor in he's had a huge September, the most crucial, clutch month of the season, led his team to the postseason (while Trout has led his Angels to an early offseason), and played better than adequate defense after making a position switch this season, and it's a no brainer. Anyone voting for Trout is way too caught up in the whole "he's doing this as a rookie" thing. The Angels were floundering before they brought up Trout (see what I did there - flounder - trout) so your contention of "leading to an early offseason" is not one of your better statements. Correct on it being a rare achievement. It's 3 offensive categories. Why do we give more credence to those 3? Are runs not important? Is a Gold Glove type season in CF not important? The fact he's a rookie has nothing to do with the vote. It just makes his season more amazing.

Trout scores runs. That requires him to get on base and into position. He needs someone to knock him in. Miggy knocks in runs. That requires someone to get on base so he can knock them in. So why do we place more value on the act of knocking one in vs actually scoring? Seems like they're equally important. Miggy is 20 behind in runs despite playing 22 more games. So, again, why are we placing more value on one stat?
