Here is the answer to the psycho wearing Body Armor

fn57.jpg

The Five-seven pistol was developed in conjunction with the FN P90 personal defense weapon and the FN 5.7×28mm cartridge. The P90 was introduced in 1990, and the Five-seven was introduced in 1998 as a pistol using the same 5.7×28mm ammunition. Developed as a companion pistol to the P90, the Five-seven shares many of its design features: it is a lightweight polymer-based weapon with a large magazine capacity, ambidextrous controls, low recoil, and the ability to penetrate soft body armor when using certain cartridge types.

Sales of the Five-seven were originally restricted by FN to military and law enforcement customers, but since 2004, the pistol has also been offered to civilian shooters for personal protection, target shooting, and similar uses.

At the end of the day, if you want guns and can legally own them, then do it. If you don't like guns or want them in your home, don't.

At the end of the day you're another day older, and that's all you can say for the life of the poor. It's a struggle, it's a war, and there's nothing that anyone's giving. One more day standing about, what is it for? One day less to be living.

Very nice weapon. Is that what you would have been returning fire with?

Any idea how much that bad boy costs?

No, I don't have one....YET!!! I would have probably been shooting at him with a Glock 23 .40 cal.

Around a $1,100 and available with 20 and 30 round magizines.

I actually wasn't aware of this weapon until a Prosecutor friend of mine was telling me about it, recently.

Isn't this what some of the secret service use? I know they use the P90 because of the ammo that can go with it, supposed to be "less dangerous" if it has to be fired in a crowded area.

Yes it is what they use...it was designed to penetrate and stay in the target without exiting into a second target.

That's what I thought, gotta love useless information, guarantee you that will never be a Jeopardy question.

You cannot buy the ammo that penetrates body armor for that weapon currently...

7.62×25mm Tokarev can thought, and it is cheap and easy to get.

I guess it's the high capacity aspect I'm struggling with. I fail to see the need . Educate me.
I wish I could but I'm not sure where I stand on it. Other then competition or hobby use there really isn't a good use for them. Where I tend to lean towards support is the slippery slope issue. Give an inch and they will take a mile.

At the end of the day how much of a difference would it have made. Say this nut ball walked into the theatre with a bunch of 10 round clips instead. It takes all of about 3 seconds to change a clip, less if you're really good at it.

For me it comes back to crazy people will find ways to do things like this and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. You just hope they don't do it somewhere you are.

Recently saw an old article from 2009. It had these stats:

article-1196941-05900DF7000005DC-677_468x636.jpg

The U.S. has a violence rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, Canada 935, Australia 92 and South Africa 1,609.

Not sure how they stack up now, but thought this was interesting.

The most violent country in Europe: Britain is also worse than South Africa and U.S.

I wonder how they define a "violent crime" and if all of those "violent crimes" are gun-related.

It's my understanding of the term violent crime includes such crimes as rape, which may or may not involve a gun.

I was thinking that all of these may not be gun-related.
