July 3, 201214 yr Definitely a sad sad thing. I was pretty sad as well when I heard that Don Knotts died. I know they weren't on any tv shows together, but I'd liken Andy Griffith to Carroll O'Connor - the day he died was a sad one as well.

July 3, 201214 yr Legend.......People want to know what is wrong with society today. Think about all the life lessons that we all learned by growing up watching the Andy Griffith Show. When I am thumbing through the channels at home and I run across the old black and whites my family knows I will stop. My kids will grown when they see it. Then I get on my soap box about how much they could learn from these! Sad day! Thank you Andy!

I can't imagine that there won't be some national news segment on "Life Lessons From Mayberry" or "A Father Teaches His Son: Andy Griffith and Opie" - look forward to seeing it, in fact.
