July 3, 201214 yr My guess is Ron Howard is very upset today! RIP Andy and TV really has never been the same. BTW I mentioned that about Ron Howard to my daughter and while she has seen a episode or two of the Andy Griffin shows, she didn't realize that Opie was Ron Howard.

I can't imagine that there won't be some national news segment on "Life Lessons From Mayberry" or "A Father Teaches His Son: Andy Griffith and Opie" - look forward to seeing it, in fact.There is a Bible Study / Sunday School curriculum based on life lessons from the show that is available.

July 4, 201214 yr Such sad news! Even though I wasn't around when The Andy Griffith Show first came about, I quickly fell in love with the reruns, own a variety of the DVDs, and even use it in my classroom to teach theme from time to time.
