If these boys were ridiculing a young girl on the bus in the exact same way, what would she have done? Isn't it her job to monitor their behavior and do something when they are out of control physically or verbally? Just throwing it out there. What was she going to do? She can't swat them, she obviously couldn't reason with them. She even said reporting it does no good. I'm sure if they were bulling someone on the bus, she would have tried to step in, but I'm also sure the abuse she already had taken would have been even worse in that situation. As several have already said, kids today are too pampered and too protected. Many of them have no respect, for others or themselves. We've (our society) created these little monsters, now we have to deal with them. The thought that really makes me cringe is when I think of these punks having kids of their own. Can you imagine how they're going to turn out?

June 23, 201214 yr Unfortunately in most school districts the options are very limited. Issuing a warning and then writing up the incident is standard procedure in my district. Then an administrator would handle the situation. There has been a rare occasion where kids are in danger and a bus will pull over and call the police. But this situation didn't warrant the police. Is there any wonder why there is so much turnover in these thankless positions?
June 23, 201214 yr First: As a teacher myself this doesn't shock me, but it does anger me. The lack of parenting (I'm jumping to conclusions) and the lack of decency instilled in kids can be alarming. The language they use, you can tell in my opinion, came naturally to them, and the ability to be that mean and hateful is a joke. Second: As a parent (of a 3 year old), I would hate to see the day he spoke to someone in that manner. He would not like the outcome from this dad. I grew up in a home with discipline and if anything like this were to ever have come from me I would likely not even be alive today :lol: And you know what, I'm a better man for that parenting. Third: The limitations that a school has to punish is remarkable. The poster who earlier made a comment about the complete lack of fear in kids was right on the money. The norm (from my experience) is that the parents are always quick to blame the teacher or the school or whoever, it is not the childs fault. Fourth: Has anyone mentioned the stupidty of these kids for posting this video????

You would know better than I but here's what I based my previous post upon. Doug Hendee, vice president and sales manager at Brighton Securities, said Klein is liable to pay taxes on the value of whatever straight-out gifts she accepts and would have to declare that amount as income. For example, if Klein accepted $500,000 all at once, she would have to set aside 45% of those funds for tax purposes. However, if any of the gifts are coming through a foundation or trust, she would not owe any tax on those amounts, Hendee said. June 24, 201214 yr Not sure how this is set up but as a rule, the donor pays gift taxes if it exceeds certain annual and lifetime limits. Gifts are not taxed to the recipient. If I give you $20 to help out because your house burned down, you don't pay tax on that. If I give you $50,000, I pay a gift tax but you still do not pay taxes. (Very general statement here) Based on what I've read I'm pretty sure she will not pay taxes.
