Saw this movie tonight. I had not realized it was a "musical" before agreeing to go....but I really enjoyed it. Growing up in the 80's/early 90's, I knew every word to every song they sang .

So....anyone willing to admit they saw this film?

Never even heard of it....

Wouldn't pay to se it in the theatre but may check it out later on down the line.

My wife and I saw it on the stage a while ago. Solid.

According to YahooNews it tanked.

I've never been a fan of stage musicals converted to the big screen. Not saying all are bad, it just isn't usually my thing. I've heard the stage version is good - didn't hear such good things about this movie.

In my opinion it all depends on if they took the stage musical and then used the new medium to enhance the experience. Chicago is a good example of how to do it well, The Producers(despite the humor) is one that was a waste of film. It looked like they just filmed on the set of the musical from Broadway. There have been some really good ones in the past decade.

I took the wife and boys and seen it when we were in NYC a couple of summers ago and they all loved it. I think I'll wait till it's on HBO to see the movie though.

I really enjoyed the stage production but I've heard that the film is awful. I'll probably wait for the DVD to see this one.

Added: Just read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia and it even sounds horrible.

Yeah... this one's not for me. Bad plot with bad casting and bad music. No thanks.

This tells me you are probably still in your 20's.

Or my 60's...

But yeah, you're right.

Great music in this! Tom Cruise was pretty funny in his role!
