I had heard on Tuesday that this move was decided over the weekend but not made official yet. Asking around at the state tournament nobody had any knowledge of it. I guess time will tell. If he is let go, I expect the announcement may not be until early next week.

I heard it both ways. I heard he is out and I heard he was reassured he is still in. Both of those "hearings" were today. I really don't know what to believe.

 

Also, you could say today alone it is two sources to one the coach stays.

Let's face it, the wins mean nothing if you do not play your best talent and are influenced by others. I am not discounting his ability to coach, but fairness, yes.

Meyerhoff is as fair as it gets. He rewards hard work and respect. If you don't give him that, he won't play you nor should any coach. The only people he is "influenced" by is what he sees in practice as well as what his assistants are noticing as well. He may get along with the parents of the players but in no way has he ever let those relationships affect who he will play. If little johnny isn't playing it is because he hasn't put the work in or isn't doing the things the coaches want him to do.

 

Meyerhoff has been around too long and has had way too many successful teams and players come from the Beechwood program to have the "fairness" card played against him.

This is a huge mistake in my opinion. BW was nothing before him. They will probably be back to mediocrity now.

Shocker! Hard to let a guy go who turned the program into the program that it is today.

Add me to the camp that has more and more "sources" saying Bob has indeed been fired.

I'd love to know the reasoning behind this. It just doesn't make any sense if true. Bob has been extremely successful and is well respected.

 

I'm sure he'll get some offers to coach but whether he accepts them is a different matter. Do you know why this happening Guru?

Yes, technically he wasn't "fired" but it's astonishing for Beechwood to make such a move given the success he has had there and what the program was before his reign.
